Kendal brought liandra back to her room. There she waited until Kendra returned. It took some time, so she chose to examine the ring while her handmaiden prepared thee for her. It was made from a black stone, onyx she thought. The signet which it carried was that of a scorpions tail. ?How odd? she thought.

It was then that Kendra returned.

?I?m sorry for having left you alone for that long, Liandra. But my tasks required me to leave early and I didn?t want to wake you.?

?It?s ok.? Liandra said. ?I went for a walk. I even met some really funny guy.?

Kendra dropped herself down on the bed, visibly exhausted. ?Great, it?s good to hear you enjoyed your first day here.?

?He also invited us both to have dinner with him tonight.?

?I?ll pass, I?m much too tired.?

Liandra sat in front of Kendra and held the ring in front of her. ?He gave me this ring to show who he was.?

Kendra lifted her head, eyes half shut, and stared at the signet ring. Suddenly her eyes flew open in shock and she said ?OH MY GODS!!!?

The baroness jumped off the bad and stripped down all of her clothes.

?Kendra? What?s going on?? a scared Liandra asked.

?I need to prepare for that dinner!? A naked Kendra yelled back while she pulled open the wardrobe.

?But you just said you were too tired.?

?That was before you showed me the imperial signet!?

Liandra looked dumbfounded to the ring. ?You mean to say, it was emperor Kendal who gave it to me??

?Yes, and he invited both of us for a private dinner with him. That is ?private, as in us alone with him.?

Liandra now stripped as well and dove together with Kendra naked into the wardrobe.

An hour later Liandra and Kendra arrived at the imperial quarters. Liandra was wearing a white luxian dress while Kendra had a black Norcternian dress. Both dresses were very classy.

When they entered the emperors personal living quarters, Liandra saw the same man there she met earlier. He was seated at a table with some scrolls of parchment and was writing on them.

Kendra turned to Liandra and said ?don?t interrupt him now, he is busy.?

Liandra was confused ?What do you mean??

?Kendal sometimes has these moments of clarity, as he walls them. When these happen answers come easily to him, making it easier for him to perform research. This is one of those moments, it would be best if we let him be.?

Kendra and Liandra took a seat in the chairs on the other side of the table. There they waited patiently for the emperor to finish his work.

Liandra was he was using a strange tool to write with. It was not a goose feather like in Luxius. It seemed more like a cartridge. She also noticed he didn?t have an ink-pot near him. Could his writing tool be both pen and ink-pot together?

Kendal was murmuring to himself. ?? connects to ? resulting in ? followed by ? followed by ? damn, lost it.?

Kendal then leaned back in his chair with his eyes closed and breathed out a long sigh. When he opened his eyes again, he became aware of his visitors.

?Oh my, I?m so sorry.? He apologized. ?I didn?t realize you were here already.?

?It?s fine, my lord, we only just arrived.? Kendra said.

?Wonderful, I would have felt ashamed if I had left you waiting.?
