Chapter 46

What's next?
In the Summer time, you got women on your mind
Daybreak, again. Just like last time, Amy is with you as you open your eyes. Just like last time, it's only about 5 AM. However, unlike last time, Amy is awake as you wake up.
"Good morning, love," Amy said sweetly as you stretch your arms.
"Mh-good morning, Amy," you replied, still half-asleep. "How'd you sleep? It seemed like you fell asleep real easily last night."
"Just like a dream," she beamed. "I love falling asleep against your chest, hearing your heartbeat puts me at ease."
"I love falling asleep with you too," you responded as you kissed her forehead.
"Alright, I gotta start doing schoolwork. A lot of my professors just opened all their assignment at midnight, so I can get an early head start on it if I do it now," she suddenly said. "I'd love to stay here and cuddle for longer, but we can do that the entire rest of the week if I finish all my stuff."
"Have fun, I'm gonna do that as well," you say, as she jumps off the bed, leaves the room with a slight wink, and tiptoes down the hallway.
You picked up your phone which you sat on the nightstand last night. You notice that there was a text message from Summer, sent around 12:30 AM.
Summer: Hey Cody, just thinking of you and wanted to check in. Apparently classes are going to be in-person again starting Thursday, can't wait to get breakfast with you again!
Huh. What exactly were her scores?
Wallace, Summer
Affection Score: 85 (+8)
Love Score: 14 (+5)
Holy shit, that was a significant jump, especially since you hadn't seen her since last time you checked, 13 points seemed pretty good. Also, you noted that everyone else who had a love score had a lust score (and in the case of Evelyn, only had a lust score and not a love score), so it seemed that Summer liked you for who you were, not your looks. You also checked your email, and yes, classes were in-person starting Thursday. Apparently the hurricane wasn't as bad as it was forecasted to be, and your school was on the outside of the storm.
Cody: Hey Summer, I'm doing great, I've missed our breakfasts too, and I'm glad that we can re-start them in a few days!
There, that was innocuous enough. It wasn't like you were professing your love to her, because A) You didn't want to do that over text, and B) You weren't sure how she would take it, because 14/150 is pretty low. However, it also wasn't a text that would immediately shut the conversation down. It was still very early in the morning though, so she would likely not see it for a few hours. You take the time to, like Amy, start working on your college assignments.
~~
A few hours pass by, and your phone buzzes with the telltale sign of a notification.
Summer: I've also missed just you and spending time with you this weekend, not just the breakfasts (although food does make everything better).
Wow, you thought Isabella was forward. Damn, Summer.
Cody: I miss you too. Not being there are being able to hear you make stupid jokes all day...as much as your stupid jokes might be a bit on the corny side, I do appreciate them.
Affection Score: 89 (+4)
Love Score: 16 (+2)
Summer: Yes! I knew you secretly loved my amazing jokes that aren't stupid or corny in any way.
Cody: Sure, sure, you can keep thinking that
Summer: At least I can think, and I don't space out in the dining hall line.
Cody: You're never gonna let me live that down, are you?
Summer: Absolutely not. It's my duty to remind you how absentminded you are sometimes.
Summer: Scratch that. All the time.
Summer: It's okay though, your absentmindedness is kinda fun if I'm being honest. And, dare I say, adorable. I can see what Amy sees in you.
Cody: What do you mean?
Summer: Are you blind? Maybe that's why you couldn't see that there was no line in the dining hall. Everybody, including me, can see that Amy is totally into you.
Girl, again, if only you knew.
Summer: If I'm being honest, I kind of envy how close you are to Amy.
Cody: What do you mean?
Summer: You and Amy have been best friends for years, didn't you say you knew her from elementary school?
Cody: Yeah, but that doesn't mean that we can't also have a close bond.
Summer: I guess, anyways, thanks for talking.
Cody: How's your "vacation" been?
Summer: Uneventful, thankfully.
The conversation died down after that. Plus, you heard movement outside the door, and then Evelyn showed up in your cracked-open doorway.
Wallace, Summer
Affection Score: 94 (+5)
Love Score: 19 (+3)
Lust Score: 1 (+1)
What does she want?
