Chapter 8 by mishrathemad mishrathemad

What's next?

A little party never killed nobody

There was an icon on Futaba's laptop. It looked like a boombox, it twitched and glitched but the fact that it was there was the most important thing. Inside her head, Futaba was cheering and dancing along with the gremlin, though outside she appeared intensely focused on her laptop.

"It uh... It worked." She said, pointing. "See? Icon."

"Okay... What is it supposed to do?" Makoto asked cautiously.

"You know how the metanav needed a name, location and distortion? This skips all that. We're following the data found in the audio to the location in the generated Metaverse. In theory, clicking on this baby will send us straight to the Palace, Jail or whatever."

"In theory?" Ann asked doubtfully.

"Well it isn't like I've ever got it to work before. For all I know, since it's all metaphysical, nothing will happen. So, who wants to scope out party central?"

"Right now?" Haru worriedly. "But we haven't made any preparations."

"There's no telling what might happen, but we'll have a way out and we're just planning on scouting the place out. Just a quick look in and out. I mean, if you really don't want to, I guess I could go by myself." Futaba shrugged.

"No no no!" Makoto quickly interjected. "We are not doing that. No impulsive dungeon diving."

Logically, Makoto new that there were plenty of reasons to put off going to this unknown Metaverse pocket; they didn't have any supplies, no weapons and there were so many unknowns. On the other hand, Futaba seemed intent on exploring and Makoto felt restless, like there was this little bit of excitement and desire that made her want to jump at the chance to explore this unknown phenomena.

They were just going to give it a quick look, in and out, just like Futaba suggested. They'd be able to get out if things went south. That was the justification presenting itself in Makoto's mind; there was minimal risk. But it still couldn't make it's way past one last logical rule Makoto had.

"We'll decide this the way we usually do, unanimous decision." Makoto was looking for an easy out, an excuse she could to ignore this niggling curiosity she felt. She didn't notice Ann's fidgeting or Haru's interest.

"F-fine, it's just a quick look, right?" Ann tried to look annoyed and exasperated but her expression had hints of excitement.

"I think we can handle a quick investigation." Haru giggled. "Besides, I'm curious too."

"I guess it's unanimous then." Makoto said, pushing away the doubts in her mind. "Go ahead Futaba, start the navigation."

"Aaaand clicky!"

The world around them seemed to pulse as the app activated.

"Party palace found!" The feminine voice of the metanav sounded bubbly, unlike it's usual emotionless tone. "Moving your cute little butts to the dance floor!"

Makoto couldn't tell if the sudden unsettling feeling in her stomach was due to a sense of dread or vertigo as the world seemed to twist and warp around them.

The quartet stumbled on the street, feeling as though they had gone through the spin cycle of a dryer and been spat out. The appeared to be in Shibuya at night, but they could see the visual distortions around them marking this as a Metaverse as well as the giant golden boombox that dominated the city in place of the 109 building. Normally, the metanav would have put them in the same metaphysical location they had entered in. For example, when going to Kamoshida's palace, they needed to be close to Shujin Academy, since that physical location was his palace in the Metaverse. Though they had been in the room above the Leblanc cafe and yet somehow ended up in Shibuya.

"Another mystery to add, I guess." Makoto was breathing heavily, trying to get her bearings.

"Woah. I see we're feeling extra kinky today!" Futaba said ogling the girls.

"What are you... What the hell!?" Ann looked at herself and screamed.

Previously when they entered the Metaverse, their outfits would change when the palace ruler recognized them as an enemy and the outfits themselves would represent the Phantom Thieves' will of rebellion. This time, however, Ann wore red latex leotard that barely covered her breasts and left her butt cheeks bare. She had red latex opera gloves and high-heel ankle boots leaving her legs mostly bare. To top it off, a red cat ear hairband was on her head, seeming a mockery of the cat mask she would normally wear for her Phantom Thief outfit.

Makoto wore what looked like a porn parody of a police uniform; a black, collared top that was obviously a size too small for her as the buttons strained against her bosom. A gold police badge with a musical note on it, prominently displayed on her left breast. The top was short enough that it gave a peek of her midriff, with thong straps clearly visible. She wore a small pair of shorts that emphasized her ass and bare legs while a pair of stiletto heels added to her already tall frame.

Haru wore a bustier that pushed up and emphasized her breasts, stopping above her navel showing off her slightly pudgy waist and stomach. Straps ran down her thighs from shorts so small one would mistake them for panties, connecting to fishnet stockings, with platform heels on her feet. Though she lacked the fancy hat of her Phantom Thief outfit, she still wore a domino mask on her face.

And Futaba wore something that looked like black latex; the material extended down her arms, covering her hands except for her index and pinky fingers. The top covered her chest, but left the skin of the underside of her breasts plainly visible and nothing covered her waist. A pair of small shorts appeared to be painted over her bubble butt and thick soled boots covered her legs up to midthigh.

"It's like I'm wearing something out of Gantz! Or hentai! Or a hentai of Gantz!" Futaba danced around looking at herself.

"Uggh, this is embarrassing! What if someone sees us?" Ann whined. She was holding her body, trying to cover herself but only managing to give herself a sexier stance.

"Well, the only ones here to see us would be shadows or cognitive beings, right?" Haru blushed as she looked around.

"Yeah, totally no biggie! And if you want to make sure nothing sees you..." Futaba threw up a hand. "PERSONA!"

Futaba was surrounded in an aura of power and her Persona, Prometheus emerged. The large orb hovered above Futaba, the neon glowing lines giving the area an ominous atmosphere.

"At least we can confirm that we can use our personas." Makoto sighed. "I'm guessing that big boombox is the actual palace?"

"Probably."

"Fine. Let's get this over with!" Ann practically stomped forward in irritation.

The four started walking down the street towards the building-sized boombox. Futaba hung back a bit and observed the other three appreciatively. Their current metaverse outfits were obviously meant to titillate with an emphasis on showing off the lower part of their bodies. Whether due to their shoes or some mental effect of the palace, each walked with a confident strut and a pronounced, rhythmic sway of their hips. Futaba could almost hear the musical beat by watching their bouncing behinds.
