Prologue 3

Keeping quiet while listening for any sound was easy with her new senses, something she had grown used to in the emptiness of the castle the first few days; thankfully there was a ton of reading material when it came to demonic powers thanks to multiple encyclopedias of human origin. Apparently the demons liked to get their hands on these manuals in how to get rid of demons, just to end up writing in the borders, making fun of misconceptions, or writing about what the humans got right and how to combat that information, probably information for the new demons in how to avoid being destroyed or making a terrible mistake, it had been a precious source of information.

Many of the abilities and powers that she had been able to use lately came thanks to those instructions, simple cantrips like moving objects with just a wave of her hand, summoning flames to ignite candles and other menial things; so far she tried to keep things simple, even if she knew that her new form was capable of more powerful magic she had decided to keep things simple for the time being, the simple idea of having actual magic had been a little terrifying considering her new form and what it represented, everything was different and it had taken her a little while to finally understand how her body worked and how to move on it, her centre of mass, how to walk, how to fly (that one had been fun) and even how to fight since her body was definitely not human in terms of speed and power, and what better way to test those abilities than with her current guests.

The front doors were pushed allowing the light of the moons to invade the entrance hall, how rude of the three figures, after all, they didn’t even knock or announce their arrival, but whatever the case may be, three people arrived at the hall, never paying attention to the one demon keeping tams on them.

The three figures seemed to be human at least, since no extra parts like wings, horns or longer ears could be seen; the three seemed young, definitely in their late teens or barely 20 and they all smelled so… fresh? Weird, her new senses always picked strange things to focus on, probably something to do with her new form and what it was supposed to do. Something else she was grateful for was the fact she was more interested in the two female figures than the male.

From the three it was clear that the guy was the leader, holding a short sword on his hands, his short hair and mediocre face showing how excited he was, while his two female companions were more interesting to her; there was something about them that just pulled at some part of her, an almost bestial desire, there was something really strange in her Succubus Queen body, but she’ll find a way to understand exactly what was going on.

Still, after the three entered her new abode, the Succubus simply raised a hand and with a quick motion the three trespasser's secrets were revealed; it was a bizarre ability, to be able to scan other living beings in search of information. What she had found was that only a select few could even get close to use such an advance technique, which was good luck that one monster in the retinue of the deceased Demon Lord of the castle had that as their own skill, now she could get a least a bit of information before things got out of hand.

It was quite the shock to discover her ability to see numbers and words appear in thin air and for what she had been able to read, the skill always showed information in different ways depending on the person or monster that could use it; she found it so funny when the information appeared in the form of an old RPG status screen, full with terms like strength, agility and such.

She had to stop herself from laughing at this point too due to the numbers appearing after scanning the trio of home invaders, their numbers barely even reached the twenties, compared to her own stats they were pathetic; when she found out she could check the status of others she had become curious about her own abilities, not knowing what the average was considering everything for her had 5 digits, probably due to absorbing every single demon and monster present in the castle when she was summoned and created.

Whatever the case, it was time to get things in motion since her guest could very well try to get deeper into the castle or just run away in the case of the shorter girl in the back holding a wooden staff, probably the mage in the group; either way, she was ready to finally meet someone else and why not do it in style? Jumping over the rail, the succubus queen landed without making any sound to the foyer alerting the trio about her presence ready to see how they reacted.
