She decides to use the potion

“Very well,” she says. “We shall give it a try.”

Courtney claps her hands in delight. “I knew you’d see it my way! As it turns out, this evening will work well. There is nothing going on here at the palace that requires your attendance. You can retire immediately after dinner, and we can sneak out then. No one will be looking for you for another 15 hours or so. Also, I know Rezkin will be home this evening, so it will work perfectly.”

A few hours later, Adella and Courtney are together in the bed chambers of the princess. As planned, Adella hurried through dinner and announced that she was feeling tired and would be retiring for the evening. She left instructions with her guards that she should not be disturbed before mid-morning.

Now that the time has arrived to execute their plan, the young ladies sit, staring at the bottle. Adella asks, “How does this work? Do we drink it?”

Courtney responds uncertainly. “Yes… I think so.”

“You _think _so? Are you not certain?”

Courtney answers, “Well, as I said, Rezkin’s explanation of how it all worked was quite complicated, and I’m sure he gave instructions about its use, but it was so boring! I was staring into his eyes and imagining his clothes becoming invisible. I’m afraid I didn’t exactly hear his instructions. But it’s a potion, and you drink potions, don’t you?”

“Do you?” asks Adella. “You seemed to be quite the expert on pickled wolfsbane and Jocktight.”

“It’s fermented wolfsbane and Rocktite,” says Courtney. “But I’m just sure we drink it. He gave us enough for both of us, and there isn’t a lot in the bottle. If we aren’t supposed to drink it, the only other thing would be to apply it to our bodies, and it doesn’t seem like there’s enough for that.” She ponders the bottle a few more moments and says, “Yes, I’m sure we’re supposed to drink it.”
