Let's Hit the Showers.

Only five elves were left in the men's locker rooms, and there were four booths in the showers.
Who would be left without a shower booth if not Alexander? About a quarter of a head taller than most elves, Alexander had short, curly blonde hair, with no natural facial-or-body hair. Although he had the same lithe frame as all other elves, it was donned with a layer of firm yet slim muscularity, making him look like an athlete with his shirt off.

He was a faster runner than the older, heavier elves in the locker room, but the fact he was the last one to realize he'd have to wait unless he hurried, and the one willing to run in the showers the least, condemned him to wait until one of the booths became vacant.

And how he had to wait!
Five minutes passed, and then five more.
"Hey, guys! Don't you think you've been in there for long enough?" Alexander said.
"We're done when we're done." George said from behind the booth.
"Yeah," Alvin said, "The more you stress us, the longer it'll take."
"Well... sure, but other people might want to shower today. I'm just done with a sixteen hour shift, and the only thing on my mind right now is to hit the showers, and get back to my room to kick off a minute before supper."

"Yeah?" Barney said, "Well, you're simply gonna have to wait until we're finished."
The sound of nozzles turning was followed by another, then another, followed by the sound of droplets on the floor coming to an end.
The booths all open at the same time, and the elves who until then had enjoyed their showers left at the same time.
"There!" Richard said as he adjusted the towel around his waist, "That wasn't so bad, was it?"
"Now you have the entire shower room to yourself." Alvin said.
"Honestly I m envious," Barney said, "No one's waiting for you to finish, so take all the time that you need."

Alexander really just wanted to get done with changing as soon as possible so he could have supper and get to bed as soon as possible, but he really didn't want to start an argument at this point so he gave Barney a strained smile as he passed him into the shower booth, "Thank you."

Alexander hung his shower from one of the screens of the booth and turned the nozzle, greeted by a spray of hot water that immersed his skin.
It had to be said that the anticipation made the shower the more enjoyable, and Alexander sighed in release as he finally could relax.

"Eaaahhhhh!!" Alexander shrieked as the water suddenly swapped from pleasantly warm to freezing and he ran out of the booth hugging his own body as he shuddered from the shock of cold, "Haah- ahaah-ahh-- Damnit... damnit! Those c-c-clowns used up all the hot w-w-water!"
Desperately he tried the water in the rest of the booths. One had warm water in it for just a moment before it changed into icey cold. The rest didn't have as much as a drop of hot water.

Alexander couldn't clean himself at all at this rate. This was North Pole water; it got so cold that people could die if exposed to it for too long.
Was he just going to leave without a shower? He was probably pretty gross after a sixteen hour shift, even with that short spray. It wouldn't be fair to the other elves if he left like this, and it certainly wouldn't be fair to his own reputation.
But what other choice did he have?

Wait... there was one thing he could do...
And why shouldn't he do it? It wasn't his fault he was in this situation after all.
He knew that all female elves currently on a shift were scheduled to be relieved an hour from now. Not only would their showers be empty at the moment, but since they use a different hot water tank he could get his hot shower there.
All he had to do was sneak in there unnoticed, take a quick shower and get out.
Fresh as a daisy and ready to take on the world.

True, he would be trespassing on a sanctuary for the girls, but it wasn't as if the shower rooms were actually sacred. As long as no one found him out, no one would notice and no one would care. The girls wouldn't even lose any hot water, since by the time anyone else would use it the hot water tank would already be refilled.
Everyone would be better off if he did this, but he had to do it sneakily and he had to do it now.
