The Fight That Follows
The Winners and Losers
Syr fired off a couple more arrows each one being stopped by either one of John’s spells or by Ophilia. Syr was getting even more fed up so much so she dropped her bow and unhilted her twin daggers. Then before John’s eyes she vanished. Before any further movement could be made by John he felt a sudden jab in his side. He had been stabbed but it did not really effect him. Blood began to drip from the wound but it did not rush out steadily. John was glad it didn’t seem too deep.
However the wound on John quickly began to burn up. He had believed it to be minor but discovered fairly quick that he had been poisoned. It did not appear to be a deadly poison but some kinda numbing or paralysis poison. John fell onto one knee. However Ophilia was easily able to lift John back to his feet and hold him there.
Lailia cast another barrier and went to cast an anti-poison spell on John. Before she could though she felt cold steel on her neck. Syr was already in the perimeter of the barrier when Lailia cast it.
Lailia tried to fight Syr off from her but couldn’t. It was a lost cause and Ophilia could only continue to stabilise her master. Slowly groups of other female elves came out of the forest bows at the ready. Females made up a majority of elven armies as they were faster and had a higher birth rate.
John had to think quick or else he and his party may lose. John lifted the Complete Charm Necklace and **** all his magic into it. It began to emanate a bright light which spread around the forest. He didn’t know the extent of what it could do but he watched as Syr’s face seemed to pick up on the danger. As she dropped her blade which was on Lailia’s neck and tried to reach for the necklace. The necklace flashed one more time before going dark, cracking and crumbling.
John feared the worse even in the previous timeline he had never seen it emanate such a bright light. However he had never seen it wither away either. His trump card was gone. This time though when he looked at Syr her face was blank and was processing something. John finally couldn’t keep strength in his legs and passed out. Ophilia laid him down concern on her face as John’s mind fell asleep.
Unbeknownst to John the original owner of the Complete Charm Necklace was an enchantress who used it to become the empress of a far away land. When under the right circumstances the necklace will override a persons mental prowess and make them loyal to the wielder of the necklace. This depending on if they are lower level than the wielder. Once the changes are made in these circumstances they are permanent if the correct amount of magic is used. The enchantress originally named it The Amulet of Loyalty and was the only one able to correctly use it before.
Once John had passed out every elf who saw the flash grabbed their heads. Since the Complete Charm Necklace was used with so much magic **** it began overriding their views on their king and their loyalties. Syr was the closest and her sister Siris was the second closest. They had always served their village and people with pride under their father King Odle. Both were highly trained and their levels were in the 90s however that was not enough to stop the necklaces influence.
Minutes turned into hours of the necklace changing things. Soon an epiphany hit Syr and Siris “Why were they loyal to their father?” They both thought. John was the only thing on their mind when they though of who they were loyal to. “John was the king was he not?” Syr thought to herself. All the while Siris was pinching herself she was no princess John was the king. How was she so blind to fall for her father’s lies.
Siris and Syr looked at each other and it was like a spark between them they knew what they had to do. Now that they had no loyalties towards their father they saw him as evil. He was someone who stole the throne from John Doe and had falsely sat in the mantle for so long (At least this is was the necklace had influenced them into thinking.) They had to get rid of him.
Lilia had begun healing John unsure of what was going on and why the elves had stopped attacking. They watched the one initially doing the **** return to her taller counterpart. Lilia didn’t care as long as she could heal her master. It was really tricky since it appeared all the mana in his body was drained. He would likely be passed out for hours or maybe days.
Ophilia unsure of what to do with herself stood up in a defensive pose ready to protect her master and mistress. She knew she was the lowest level among them but she would die for them if need be.
Ophilia and Lilia watched as the elves regrouped the large number of female bowmen centering around the two initial elves that had revealed themselves. It appeared to them that their was some sort of class based system the two original elves being the leaders.
Syr and Siris had signalled for their forces to group up. They did a small explanation for their plan. Their forces all understood that King Odle mustn’t be the true king if John was supposed to be king. They would sneak back into their village kingdom and **** the king to relieve his position or be killed.
When they all understood the plan they put it into action it took an hour and a half but they successfully returned to their large kingdom. They met little resistance as most of the elven forces were on their side or hesitantly joined them. The male soldiers were less compliant and many were killed by their former lovers who held no loyalty to them anymore.
Syr and Siris held their loyalty to John to a high standard. He was their code of honour and their reasoning for what they were doing. When they entered the throne room and renounced their father he refused to step down. He was in disbelief that his daughters would betray him and after hearing their reasoning tried to convince them they were mistaken. Neither of them cared though why would they listen to someone who had lied to them for so long. Their mother Idril stood in front of their father. She was once one of the strongest warriors of the kingdom and vowed to protect Odle with her life.
Syr and Siris fought Idril but with their combined power managed to get enough paralysis poison in her to put her to sleep. King Odle their father watched in horror as his daughters easily subdued Idril. He slung insults at them for their betrayal after he raised them. He seemingly disowned them in his next few words but his words got cut off as Syr hurled one of her blades at him severing his vocal cords. She didn’t need to hear any more words from a liar. She dilapidated his body to present his head to her real king John.
Siris locked Idril in the king’s bedroom ensuring she wouldn’t have any weapons or way out. She made a discovery when she was clearing the room of all weapons it was a small book. In the book it detailed her father Odle organising for parties of elves to be kidnapped and sold into slavery for the protection of the kingdom from the Empire and the Chapel. This just reassured her that John really was the try king. She felt bad for her mother as she didn’t see the truth and would need to be re-educated by John.
King Odle was not a good man and Siris shared the book with Syr reassuring her as well. Now that they had secured the kingdom they had to return to the hopefully now awake King John and correctly return his crown. The only question in their mind was just how a human was king of the elves but they brushed their own worries away.
They returned quickly and John was still asleep. Their army followed them back so that they could make sure they protected their king.
Lailia had passed out from exhaustion. Because she had used her hero power earlier on Ophilia she couldn’t use it again that day so she was relying on every other healing spell she had. Ophilia still stood guard above her sleeping owners and was ready to fight when she saw the elves return. The elves tried to dissuade Ophilia from a fight but she wouldn’t stand down.
Siris with her quick thinking song a magical lullaby that put insignificant (Level 50 or lower) creatures to sleep. Ophelia tried to fight it but soon joined Lailia and John in sleeping. Syr moved in and rested John’s head on her lap. She had prepped some awakening tea just in case. She knew John couldn’t drink it asleep so she took a sip and brought her lips to his. She embraced him into a his pouring the tea into his mouth and throat from hers. She broke the kiss and started humming just waiting.
John was dreaming about his past and saw all the atrocious things that were done to him. He had used all that just to make himself stronger and he was so close to achieving his ****. Was he going to die here and now while passed out from poison? Then he heard humming. A beautiful sounding voice hummed a beautiful melody over him. A hand gently rubbing his head. John was slowly returning to reality. This was much sooner than he had anticipated. It had actually been quite a while.
The humming continued as John slowly opened his eyes. He began to make out a female form with blonde hair was it Lailia? When they began to focus the beautiful voice and female figure came into full view it was Syr. She had John’s head in her lap this was not what he was expecting. Looking around him Ophilia and Lailia were around him fast asleep.
John sat up really fast which surprised Syr. John then noticed the large number of female elves that had left the forest earlier were all bowed down their heads in the dirt.
Syr then spoke. “Our king has awakened and and with King Odles **** we pronounce John Doe as king of the Norwood. How could we have been so blind in the past to see past my father’s sins and not realise the true king wasn’t seated in the throne?”
John realised what had happened inducing almost all his mana reserves into the Complete Charm Necklace led to it completely overriding the loyalties of those that saw the light it emitted. It was believed that the necklace had a deeper power but no one had ever been able to unlock it all this time but he appears to have done it. Maybe a it worked a little too well. It was a shame that the item crumbled after the use of this.
Then Siris who had originally come out with Syr brought a brown sack that was dripping a red liquid. She then spoke properly introducing herself to her king “I Siris first daughter of Odle the false king renounce my false title as princess along with my sister and pledge my loyalty to King John.” She then dumped the bag out revealing the head of a male blonde elf wearing a crown. This was King Odle’s head
John could only sit in disbelief and admire Siris who stood tall in a golden silk dress with a golden breastplate. This outfit was different then her previous one.
