They decide to find out for themselves

“Well, I’m curious,” Kat admitted to the group. “What if we bid on something and find out for ourselves?”

“You’re willing to gamble on something you have no idea about?” Wyatt asked.

“Well, what if we can get a low bid, surely something horrible couldn’t happen if it’s under a minute or two, right?” Janette interjected.

“Well, it’d be even safer if Damien would just tell us what happens,” Terrence chided their friend.

“What? And ruin the surprise?” Damien shrugged.

“Well, I’m game to win something,” Kat added.

“Can’t we just ask the lady?” Kayla wondered, looking at the woman fixing her dress and moving back to her seat.

“That takes away all the mystery!” Kat told her sister.

“That’s the spirit!” Damien encouraged.

“Alright, so it looks like we’re buying something using who knows what to pay for it…” Terrence grumbled.

“I wonder if they have home decor,” Janette gasped, suddenly interested in the auction pieces.

“Don’t these auction houses put out listings for potential buyers to look through before they come in to bid?” Wyatt pointed out. They looked at Damien for an answer. He pulled out his phone and opened up an app, then passed it over to Wyatt to look over. Kat and Kayla huddled around him to see while Janette and Terrence were on the other side of the table.

“A lot of these are services…” Wyatt noticed. There were massages, dinner vouchers to fancy restaurants, meet and greets with celebrities.

“Oh, this one looks fun! Be a magician’s assistant!” Kat pointed.

“It might be popular though, you think it would go for a low time?” Kayla argued.

“Then, should we just go for something that isn’t going for a high price?” Kat asked the table.
