Chapter 5

What will Ruby's first world-changing statement be?
Make Everyone Happy
No one will be angry or upset or worried over things. No matter what, everyone will be happy.
There, thought Ruby, grinning.
It was a small gesture, but it made Ruby better. Just something to take her mind off of the day and just imagine how perfect a world, in which everyone was happy, would be.
There would be no wars or conflicts, Ruby mused lazily in her bed, staring at the ceiling.
People wouldn't be so mean to each other, and nobody would have a bad day ever again.
Ruby sighed taking a moment to enjoy the feeling.
"Now," Ruby said, "I should shower before I meet back with the others."
She then placed the book underneath her pillow. It produced a massive bulge, and it would be noticeable to sleep on, but it was a safe enough place to keep it.
"I'll write in you again tonight. I'll keep you here for now. Sleep well," said Ruby, patting the pillow playfully and then zooming off into the bathroom.
It didn't take much time at all for Ruby to undress and hop into the shower, getting her daily routine underway.
She had showered earlier but due to events that weren't entirely her fault, she had ended up with a face full of dirt. It had been a training session in an outdoor scenario. She and another student were going at it, but she had been noticeably sloppy. She ended up falling over awkwardly and landing with her face down. It hadn't been wet enough for it to have been mud and her aura kept her face intact, but her face was grubby and red hot in embarrassment. She left, hearing the mocking Team CRDL waving her away, calling her a child and a good-for-nothing, as well as other things that made tears prick onto Ruby's eyes, as she undignifiedly walked back to her dorm.
Ah. One of the worst sparring disasters to date, Ruby thought, finding herself happily recalling the events, although she had felt kind of bad about it at the time.
"My balance was all off. I must be seriously behind on practice," Ruby said to no one in particular. She would typically have taken this as a sign that she needed to get focused and take training more seriously, as even she knew that a sloppy huntress could be a dead one pretty soon.
Instead, she said, "I shouldn't be worried. I should be happy."
And indeed, she was happy. She was happy that her training has been going terribly recently. She was happy that she ended up with her face in the dirt and had to leave in humiliation. She was even happy about the way Team CRDL had taunted her.
She would have thought that this reaction was completely illogical and out of sorts. She would have immediately began wandering what was happening, which would have led her to start thinking back and coming to the conclusion that the book may have been to blame.
However, Ruby shouldn't be worried. She should be happy. Thus, any of those thoughts died before the girl even knew that they were there.
Instead, Ruby giggled, before rubbing suds into her face.
"Gods. I wonder why I never realized how wonderful it felt to be picked on. I should thank Cardin's team later. I messed up in training, humiliated and brought to tears by bullies. That's great. It's been a pretty good day, actually. I don't know why I had been upset earlier."
Ruby hopped out of the shower, putting her combat uniform back on - smiling down at the dirt and the scuffs that were ruining it - and making her way back to the door to the dorm room.
She spared one last look to the bed, her grin still remaining on her face.
"That book really helped me cheer up. I should definitely make that a daily thing. Now I've got to meet up with the others."
Meanwhile, with the others...
