Ulv (Scandinavian)

The proudest of all the Lycanthrope peoples.

For millennia Ulv Lycans lived and fought alongside the human Vikings of Northern Europe. Some were seen as the descendants of Hati and Skoll, the wolves who chased the sun and moon through the sky. Powerful Ulv Lycans are often theorized to be children of Fenrir, the wolf who will bring about Ragnarok.

Even to this day the Ulv are seen in high regard to the humans of the region, but a brutal ongoing war caused your family to flee the homeland two generations ago. Perhaps you will see the homeland someday.

You have not yet done anything worthy of your peoples history, but with even one glance your origins are obvious.

Like most other Lycans, you can take on three different forms. Human, Wolf, and Lycan.

In human form you are 5’10” and usually sit around 175 pounds. Years of working in the village have left you muscular and toned, with broad shoulders and powerful arms. Lycan men are usually better endowed than human men, and you are no exception. Your face is particularly handsome, with a chiseled jaw and cold blue eyes that have been described as “gamle øyne” by your mother. You still do not know what this means despite repeatedly asking. Atop your head is a messy pile of dirty-blonde hair that suits you well.

In wolf form, you are 65” at the shoulder and your weight remains at around 175. Much larger than a mundane wolf. While a strange concept for humans to grasp, you are considered by other Lycans to have a very attractive wolf form. This is due to a strong symmetrical face and muzzle, the same cold blue eyes, and a sleek muscular body. Your reproductive system is identical to that of a feral wolf. Your fur is short and coarse, with areas of grey, black, and tawny fur typical of a Eurasian Wolf.

At your age Lycan form is only attainable for a short time. Unlike the other forms which are a simple matter of changing shape, Lycan form includes gaining hundreds of pounds in mere moments. Ulv Elders describe this change as “pulling strength from our progenitors”. This form is used primarily in combat when wolf form isn’t enough.

In Lycan form you are 7’8” and typically amass around 350-450 pounds of muscle. You look identical to your wolf form, but instead walk upright like a human. With this stature your feral wolf reproductive organs are put clearly on display, a show of virility and prowess to your enemies.

You have many things to be proud of to be sure. But what use are your gifts if you do not use them?

It is nearing the time for you to leave the village and find your own way in life. Your father has asked that you stay and work in the village for another year before leaving, but the decision is yours to make.
