Victory

Gaia starts the match and Luna runs at me. She catches me off guard with her speed. She's not particularly fast, especially when compared to my gramps or the Werewolf, but she's faster than I thought. I ready myself to block as she raises her left hand. I assume she's going for a punch and use my dagger to block. At the same time, I ready my Katana to attack. Before I can do either she suddenly stops her attack and kicks me in my side.

I jump back and curse myself for falling for her trick. I Multicast Icicle Lance using my dagger and send them at her.

She kicked the first Icicle, destroying it, but she wasn't able to get the other two. She gets knocked down and falls on her ass. I charge her as she gets up and swings both my weapons at her sides. She grabs them both by their blades, as I had hoped. I let go of them and grab her wrists. She drops my weapons, surprised and shocked. She struggles to break free but is unable to. Suddenly she opens her mouth and casts Ancient Beast Roar. I cast Mana Bind, mainly wanting to test it some more, to hold her. I place my hands on her shoulders and vault myself over her. I land behind her and hear her growling. She looks up and fires her spell into the sky. While she does that I pick up my weapons and place the dagger against her throat. My Katana is behind her neck so she can't back away, even though she's still bound by Mana Bind.

"I give." She says bitterly and I smile. I swap back to my clothes, making my weapons disappear from my hands, and remove the bindings. Luna sighs and runs off to change out of her armor.

"You should've held back a bit." Gaia says a little worried.

"I did, I didn't use my enhancements or my claws." I answer and she shakes her head.

"I don't mean your strength, I'm talking about your skills. As you know everyone else can only use one School of magic. So using multiple schools in a fight, especially ones so diverse, isn't very fair for Luna. I'm not saying you shouldn't use different Schools, but maybe don't bind her next time." Gaia says and I nod.

"Yeah, you're right. But what did you mean by diverse?" I ask her a little confused.

"Well, most Schools focus on one particular thing. Some focus on high damage, others on ranged attacks or enhancing yourself. Anyway, most Schools that have a binding spell like that are either focused on trapping an opponent or debuffing them. So in a real fight if she was bound by a single opponent they would either be pretty weak, or the binding would be weak. It's almost impossible for anyone skilled in trapping an opponent to be nearly as strong as you. The only way would be by using items and gear that are Legendary grade at least." She explains. I nod and thank her as Luna comes back.

"Are you guys done?" Asami asks us. She walked from the cabin and Gaia didn't notice her. At least if the way she jumped when Asami spoke is anything to go by.

"Yeah, I lost." Luna says a little upset and Asami smiles.

"No offense Luna, but did you expect anything else?" Asami asks and Luna sighs.

"Luna, we should spar again. But I promise I won't bind you next time, okay." I say and I see Luna smile before quickly frowning and nodding. She runs ahead and asks Asami what she made for dinner. We go inside, where Ramia has just finished setting the table. We sit down and eat while Ramia tells us of a time she blew up her parent's Alchemy lab. We finish eating and I decide to finish one of my quests. The others all go off and do their own things. Gaia and Ramia go upstairs, probably so she can get some samples. Innu and Luna go train and Asami feeds Eimbis. She says she's been trying to find what foods he likes, both normal ones like beef and pork to magical ones like the Fishman and some Lizardman meat. She bought the Lizardman meat from the L-Market. She got a device for it from Sugano. I really need to go and thank her. She's been a big help to Asami. I think before taking my Kings Crown from my storage chest. I take out my Fire Dragons Ball and Bergeths Magic Ball. I look at the seven spirals evenly placed around the crown. I can't see what kind of spells are connected to each, even with Observe. It worries me because the Balls will add the power of the beasts they come from to the spells they activate. I try to think of any way I could learn what spirals lead to what spells but I can't think of any. The only idea I have would be to ask the guilds but I decide against it. I already feel like I rely on them too much so I'd like to solve this on my own. I decide to just add them and hope I can remove them if needed. I'm hoping it'll work like my Domain Essences, that if I remove them it'll remove the effects of the spell and allow me to place them somewhere else. I place my Fire Dragon Ball first and a new notification pops up.

Fire Dragon Ball Accepted, Transferring power to the associated spell. Spell Enhanced Might has awakened. The spell has been altered by the Fire Dragons mana. It now has the Ruin's strength as well.

I read the pop-up and place Bergeths Ball in one of the other seven, six free, spirals.

I decide to Observe the Crown again.

Kings Crown Lvl 50, Rare

This Crown is made of gold and Enchanted with various spells. Five of the spells currently lay dormant and will awaken when a Magic Ball has been placed on top. There are seven spells which each need a Magic Ball. Once a Magic Ball is placed on top of the spiral it will awaken the spell connected. Gives 10 Defense to your head. Hidden Properties: Two of the spells have been awakened, the Enhanced Might and Enhanced Mana. The Enhanced Might Spell gives +15 STR and +15 END. The Enhanced Mana gives +15 INT and +250 Max MP.

I can barely contain my surprise upon reading this. How the hell do those small Balls provide this much power? I think before Asami appears.

"Are you ready for bed?" She asks and I nod. She goes and gets ready while I try to equip the crown. I have to replace my Queen Bees Circlet, which gave me +10 CHA, +7 AGI, and +5 INT. Ramia, Luna, and Innu are already in bed. I lay down and fall asleep with them.
