Chapter 44 by duskdawn duskdawn

Just an ogre and some orcs, right? Nothing to worry about...

Goblinoid Warfare

You set down the armored goblin, knowing he's going to need a minute to catch his breath. Meanwhile, you take a look at Eve through God's Eye. Fifteen minutes, I think? So they're not too far away, at least for me. But with only ten minutes left, we should probably refresh her before we go into combat. "Eve, you think you can ask Borak to keep watch for a bit?"

She perks up and smiles, still not getting down from your embrace. "Is it time?"

"Nearly, but we're gonna play it safe, okay?" You polymorph, letting your clothes fall more comfortably and noticing a pout on her face.

Borak almost immediately raises his blade to you, fear in his eyes. He barks something, but you can't tell what. Eve quickly tries to diffuse the situation, pausing a bit to look at you before continuing. To try to help whatever argument she's making, you shift back to your true form and back to human again, giving Borak a chance to comprehend your ability. There's a sense of unease, but he lowers his bone blade, taking a step back before climbing up a tree.

"He's going to look out for an ambush. In the meantime..." She cups your penis, which is only now starting to get hard.

I'm surprised I'm still able to get it up at all with how much she needs... "Well, what are we waiting for?"

You cum for the fourth time today...or was it fifth? It was getting hard to say. You and Eve pull each other close as she spasms, joining your panting shortly after. As you're both taking your time to recuperate, you suddenly feel a piercing in your side. You drop your goblin, as you pull out...an arrow? You glance in the direction the arrow came from, but don't see anything in the trees. "Borak!"

Eve barks something before grabbing her bow and quiver, slipping the latter over her back before drawing an arrow and aiming into the trees. You continue inspecting your surroundings, trying to find wherever your foe hides. You pull out the arrow from your side before polymorphing back to your true form, your wings furling out and bending into a resting position behind you. You suddenly feel another arrow, this time in your wing.

Eve speaks up, seemingly spotting something. "There's two of them. One of them is a goblin, but the other's bigger, like an orc." She fires into the foliage, and you hear a brief shriek as she nocks another arrow. "Only the big one, now." It's a little scary, the contrast between 'Cocksleeve Eve' and 'Hunter Eve', but you're glad she's on your side.

"Any idea on what we're looking for?"

"I...can't say for sure. They're fast, but I can only hear them every few steps." She lowers her bow. "They're...gone."

Looks like we won't have the element of surprise, anymore... "Borak!" Within moments, you hear the rustling of leaves and see the armored goblin rush toward you. "Why didn't he do anything?"

"I told him to hide, Chief. I didn't even notice those two until you were already hurt..." She purses her lips. "I needed more information before I could risk anything else."

You sigh before chuckling, reaching out to pat her head. "Good job, Eve. Anyway, we need to get going. Eve, keep a lookout for that goblinoid, and any other threats." You turn and begin leading your two companions toward the northeast, around where Eve had spotted whatever disturbance from the air.

Before long, you end up hearing some banging and grunting in the distance. You're pretty sure it's not sexual, but the three of you end up creeping up as best you can. The noise gets louder, and you eventually notice some scout nests, several of them empty, and others with dead goblins in them. What's going on here? You lead your companions further, but Eve pulls against your shirt. She taps the ground in front of you, and a snare springs, with the nearby tree straightening as it lifts the empty trap in the air. You nod to her as she begins leading you forward.

You eventually spot something in the distance an odd sort of...building among the trees. What brings your attention more though, is the sight around it. A battle is taking place, with orcs, goblins, and even an ogre attacking each other, the big guy seemingly with no concern for any others around them. Is that why the other one left? You all creep closer, getting a better view of the battle. The ogre is doing work, crushing goblins left and right, but it's still difficult to tell who's on what side. The ogre has his back to the strange wooden building, so you assume they're defending it, but it's a toss up as to everyone else's allegiance.

Your analysis is interrupted when you spot a woman on the roof of the building, laying down as she looks down to the fighting. You're unsure who or what she is, but she seems goblinoid, if her pale green skin is anything to go by. You spot her reach over the edge and move her hand about, a brief bit of magic emanating from her fingers. With God's Eye, you find that she's actually a Sorcerer, which is a bit surprising to find out here, and that she's something called a hobgoblin, apparently a bit more evolved than an orc.

"You ever hear of a hobgoblin, Eve?" You point to the rooftop.

She follows your gaze, whispering something to Borak. He whispers back, and Eve translates. "They're pretty rare. Most orcs end up evolving into ogres. Hobgoblins are as smart as humans, but definitely not as strong as ogres."

"Is she the one you noticed earlier?"

Eve hums, squinting. "I'm not sure."

"Well, she's a sorcerer, so leave her to me. Eve, I don't know what Borak here is good at, so you take care of him, alright? Keep attacking whichever side seems to be winning, but try not to kill if you can."

She nods, speaking to her armored counterpart. He nods to you, and with a thumbs up, you back away from them, sidestepping around the structure so you don't give away their position. When you can't see them anymore, you lift off, just enough to push you onto the slanted, shrubbery-filled roof of the building. Before you even get proper footing though, you feel an arrow in your chest. You nearly stumble off, but use a forceful flap of your wings to keep yourself in place. Looking up, you catch the briefest glimpse of something diving into the shrubbery. As you begin to give chase, you feel a blast in your side, and now spot the hobgoblin woman standing firm in a fur dress (not unlike Eve's, but much larger) as smoke seems to rise from her hand.

2v1, and you can't even see one of them!
