Chapter 3 by shadedrakon shadedrakon

Specific Builds:

Dragon Broodlord

This chapter and the one after it don't have any of that delectable smut. If you're content with not knowing exactly what this dragon is like until it's relevant, feel free to skip.

Ur-Embers Remaining: 300

I sit in space, reviewing my options. I have a feeling I'm going to run out of points fast. I need something especially powerful to base my build on.

Then I focus in on one of the Rare Features: Broodlord. All of my children would become completely loyal. Wait, wasn't there a fertility -
Normal Feature: Fertility, Tier 3. Toggleable fertility and much more powerful offspring. Upgrading to legendary doubles the number of Ur-Embers available and adds the ability to control litter size.
Expensive, requires time, but it would lead to an OP dragon army. Any weaknesses in one dragon could be negated by the dragon next to it.

30 Ur-Embers Spent: Fertility, Tier 3
30 Ur-Embers Spent: Legendary Fertility
30 Ur-Embers Spent: Brood lord
10 Ur-Embers Spent: Pheromones
5 Ur-Embers Spent: Adaptive Genitalia

Ur-Embers Remaining: 195

Yeah, those Ur-Embers are going to get spent fast.

If I have dragons to fight for me, I should probably start focusing on defense. Just fly around tanking crossbow bolts while my army runs wild. Wait, no - I'm could fly around dodging crossbow bolts. I would still need an underlying level of defense, though. Eventually something's going to hit.
Dexterity, speed, and something defensive, then:

30 Ur-Embers Spent: Reincarnation

35 Ur-Embers Spent: Wings, Tier 2
6 Ur-Embers Spent: Feathers, Tier 2
FREE: Flight, Tier 2

15 Ur-Embers Spent: Crawling, Tier 2

15 Ur-Embers Spent: Amphibious
8 Ur-Embers Spent: Fins, Tier 3
FREE: Swimming, Tier 2

Ur-Embers Remaining: 86

Okay... I'll need to know an attack is coming to dodge it, and psychic attacks can't be dodged. Something to get out of a grapple, maybe?

40 Ur-Embers Spent: Brain, Tier 3

15 Ur-Embers Spent: Eyeless Sight
10 Ur-Embers Spent: Sight 3

15 Ur-Embers Spent: Poison/Venom Resistance, Tier 2
5 Ur-Embers Spent: Poisonous Mucus

Ur-Embers Remaining: 1

Fuck. There're still some aspects that will require more Ur-Embers, aren't there?

Species Chosen: Southern
Ur-Embers Returned: 37
FREE: Regeneration, Tier 1
FREE: Heat Resistance, Tier 1

10 Ur-Embers Spent: Medium Size

Color Theme Chosen: Teal

22 Ur-Embers Spent: Meat, Sea Creatures, Plants, Bugs, and Mana Diets
10 Ur-Embers Spent: Magic, Tier 1

Ur-Embers Remaining: -5

Choosing a species wasn't too hard. Most of the True Dragons had something major I didn't like such as a lack of limbs or too high of a defense, and that left few choices. I already had most of the things being a Southern Dragon required.
Size also wasn't too hard. I wanted to be slightly larger than a human but not enormous.
Color? Being a reclusive general that relied on patience and strategy made sense, and Teal's a pretty color.

That leaves me in the negatives, though. Are there any drawbacks that wouldn't mess up my build? I need to keep the loyal army, awareness and mobility, reincarnation, and psychic immunity.

35 Ur-Embers Gained: Weak Spot, Genitals
25 Ur-Embers Gained: Elemental Weakness, Plant/Natural
10 Ur-Embers Gained: Hoarder, Brood mothers
10 Ur-Embers Gained: Whelp, 10 Year Relevance
10 Ur-Embers Gained: Horny
20 Ur-Embers Gained: Breathless
25 Ur-Embers Gained: Dragonite Weakness
5 Ur-Embers Gained: Deep Sleep
10 Ur-Embers Gained: Ravenous

Ur-Embers Remaining: 146

Turns out there are a lot more of those that I'm fine with than I expected. A lot of them just made me weak to a certain kind of attack if it connects. I'm relying on mobility, not defense.
I'll have allies with me that will have their own breath attacks, can satisfy my horniness, protect me while I sleep, and hunt for food. It's fine having weaknesses if my army can make up for them.
And Whelp is only a temporary drawback.

Question is, what do I spend all of that on? My build is already insanely powerful.

If I don't know what else I'll need, then let's grab some things that are versatile.

50 Ur-Embers Spent: Magic, Tier 3

10 Ur-Embers Spent: Humanoid Hands
20 Ur-Embers Spent: Tentacles
15 Ur-Embers Spent: Chamelic Skin
10 Ur-Embers Spent: Muscles 2

Ur-Embers Remaining: 31

I'm interrupted. More memories are awakening. Wait -

Wishes? I'm hearing wishes. People in Elderia are wishing to my dragonfall, and I get to take what I want from them in exchange.

Hmph. That's not wise of them. I'll simply take everything they have: their skills, their knowledge, their brainpower and their ideas. They're going to become loyal parts of my army.

Well, I'm likely going to be giving just as much as I'm taking. They'll be well fed, they'll be protected, and they'll - wait - I can stop their aging? Yeah, the only reason I'll have to feel guilty about this is I'll be pulling them from their previous lives. It's not like I'm making them slaves, more like employees or friends.

7 Ur-Embers Spent: Celebron & Wish
4 Ur-Embers Spent: Vesilia & Wish
4 Ur-Embers Spent: Delathwyn & Wish
9 Ur-Embers Spent: Illenwyn & Wish
4 Ur-Embers Spent: Metztli & Wish
1 Ur-Embers Spent: Lezeli & Wish
2 Ur-Embers Spent: Yanya & Wish

Continent Chosen: Ixtacotak
Ur-Embers Remaining: 0

Those seven had worthwhile wishes, things that no one could really do without powerful magic. There were others who I would would consider recruiting, but I can go visit them and just fulfil their wishes manually, I don't want to waste Ur-Embers on them.

And with my choices made, I find myself falling towards Ixtacotak, where three of my new companions reside.

This fall is interrupted by:
