This is where our hero comes in

I thought today was going to be a regular day: wake up, go to college, go to my part time job, and go to bed. I didn't expect my high-school bully to drag me into an empty room with 3 of her friends while I was on the way to my class.

I know that I am a grown ass man now and I could easily **** her hand off me, I felt compelled to follow her; I wasn't sure if it had something to do with the way her eyes looked empty, or the big glowing magic circle in the middle of the room, but it was like my body was moving on it's own.

Once the 5 of us stood in the middle of the circle it started to glow so bright that I thought I would go blind, but I didn't. Instead I entered a blank space. I quickly realized I was standing on some sort of platform in a place so empty and yet so filled with light that I almost didn't notice the woman who sat on a throne 30 feet away from me. A white mist seemed to emanate out of nowhere insuring that I could not see the path before me, yet I was drawn to this woman. Her power and grace was so intoxicating to me that I almost didn't notice that the other 4 people weren't here with me.

Despite the fact that they were missing, I didn't really care. Yeah they were dicks to me throughout high-school, but I didn't hate them so much that I wouldn't care, and yet I don't. This woman was so intoxicating that I couldn't focus on anything but her. This is such a strange feeling, it feels wrong. Why do I know I should care but don't?

While I was ruminating I suddenly realized I had already reached the dais that the throne sat upon. The woman, despite looking in my direction, wasn't even looking at me. She spoke words I didn't understand and could not hear, yet I knew she spoke. She looked through me and yet spoke directly to me.

Suddenly she stopped speaking and instead outstretched her hand towards me and I feel myself filled with an alien energy. Grunting in pain I collapse to the floor, and right before it all goes blank I glance up and see her chuckling without looking in my direction.

"Goodluck, you'll need it" was all I could hear before I passout
