In any case, Reader didn’t relish getting pushed out of a birth canal again or getting plonked into a completely foreign world with no context.

So the goddess Orianne suggested something unique. “What if we transplant your soul into an available vessel in the new world that you’re destined for?” she asked. “That way, you will inherit the knowledge and experience of that vessel which will bring you up to speed to a certain extent on the condition of that world. However do note that the knowledge and experience you inherit will be limited to the perspective of said vessel. Thus if you get transplanted into a village idiot, you may end up with a very skewed perspective of the world.”

“That’s not a bad option,” Reader said, “And I can be transplanted into anyone?”

“Alas, no,” Orianne said, “You may only claim vessels that have very recently expired, where the soul has just departed the body and the body is still in relatively good condition.”

“Well there goes my plan of just slotting myself into a king and taking over a kingdom right at the start.”

“If there is a king that has recently passed on, it is entirely possible,” Orianne replied.

“Very well then, find me a body and let’s get my new life started already!” Reader declared.
