A framed prisoner who expired in his cell.

Reader woke up as Augustus Cristol and found himself in a dungeon cell. The memories of the deceased young man quickly came flooding back and Reader, or Augustus now, started to remember how he ended up in this prison and how he had died. The latter was simply because he had contracted the coughing ****, a plague that had been going around the prison. His condition had deteriorated rapidly over the course of several days until he finally coughed his last only moments before.

As to why he was in prison, Augustus couldn’t say. He was arrested on charges of treason against the king and sentenced to this subterranean dungeon without so much as a trial. Augustus had held on to the belief that it must have all been a mistake, a great misunderstanding of some sort, for he had never even had an ill will about the King of Runetyr.

“What a fool,” Augustus said of his past self. He checked his body and found that he was perfectly healthy. All traces of the coughing **** had been purged from his body upon transplantgration. His body was rather emancipated however, having subsisted on little over the past years.

“First to get out of here,” Augustus said as he studied the construction of his prison cell with great interest.
