Chapter 34 by Chip_Arranger Chip_Arranger

What do you do?

You have an idea

What if...you bought the trait for Amy? Then you wouldn't really have this sort of problem, and she wouldn't be grumpy all the time in the mornings like she was all the way back...yesterday morning. Gosh, was it seriously only about 24 hours ago that you and Amy left Georgia? Never mind, focus.

You booted your phone back up and opened back up the Affection Multiplier app. You opened up the shop, selected the "Sleep Optional" trait, and hit the confirm button. There was no going back now.

"Shit", you thought. "I should not have done that, I needed those 50 points in order to get the helping hand perk. Now I'll have to wait until I can reach a score of 150 with two people for me to purchase that".

After you were done chastising yourself for buying that trait so impulsively, you figured that what's done is done, and you might as well just apply the trait since you already bought it.

You were brought to a screen that had all the available people that you could give the perk to. It was everyone that you had a profile with on the Affection Multiplier, but it seemed like it was only the people that had an affection score higher than 50 or people who had more than one score bar unlocked.

"I guess that's so you can't ruin people's lives who are enemies with you", you thought. It was a good idea, but a weird one to implement.

You clicked on Amy. A confirm window popped up again, and after no more than 5 seconds, you clicked on the "Yes" button, applying the trait to her.

Now, it brought you to her profile, where the bottom right no longer had a lock icon over it, and it displayed the "Sleep Optional" perk. That must be where any perks applied end up going. Good to know, good to know.

Additionally, a little pop-up appeared that read "Congratulations! You improved someone else's life using your own currency! As a small token for your generosity, have 100 Affection Points!". There was some fine print below this that said something about how this was only a one-time thing and that you wouldn't get any points back for subsequent purchases that you used on other people. Great! Now you didn't have to try to get two more people's bars to 150 for the perk, and you could continue on your merry way.

Then it dawned on you. You just basically altered someone's life, and without their consent. There was no way that Amy was going to not notice only getting about 4 hours of sleep, especially when she's a person who really likes sleeping in. Would you have to come clean about the whole thing? Eventually you definitely would, but would that time have to be right now?

Amy starts to wake up
