Meanwhile at Claire's

Claire is sitting back in her recliner on the phone with her son.

"Don't worry Ma' I'm fine. Just a few stiches." Her son says.

"Are you sure sweetie? You know how much trouble those fire golems can be. If it weren't for the dungeon barrier that city may have been reduced to burning rubble." She says while looking at her watch.

"I know Ma' you we have this conversation every time I get hurt, even when I get scratches." Her son replies emphasizing even.

"I know, I know, I'm just worried about my boy."

"Ma' I'm almost thirty now, I'm not a boy anymore."

"Don't be silly, no matter how big you get you'll always be my little boy." Her son groans hearing this when the doorbell rings. "Oh dear its that time already, I've got to go you take care now my precious little boy." She hangs up before hearing his response knowing she'll come bac to multiple texts from him. She gets up from her recliner chair and walks over the door. "Who is it?" She asks looking through the peep hole.

"Delivery Ma'am." Says a man in a typical delivery uniform. She opens the door and is handed a long rectangular package about the size of one of the delivery mans legs. "Sign here please." He says not asking or demanding. She signs and he quickly takes off, no doubt to deliver more packages. She walks inside and sets the package against her shoe rack.

"Now what could this be, that old coot just said to hang onto it and not open it." She says out loud. She goes to run her hand on it when she sees it. Her ring she has been wearing for years which has always had a red gem now had a purple one. She quickly runs, as fast as a 60 year old could to her phone. She frantically dials in a number she has memorized and after a few rings a voice picks up, the voice is obviously using a voice changing program.

"Claire! Did you get the package?" It asks.

"Yes, but that's not why I'm calling. It's happened." She replies in a grave tone. there's some shuffling sounds before they reply.

"I know your not one for jokes Claire, so I take it the ring changed?"

"Yes, and its like she said, the gem is purple."

"But why now? We were was still supposed to have a year." They reply confused.

"I don't know. What are we going to do? There's still the two Guilds. They could interfere and ruin everything! should we get rid of them? Or maybe take him and leave?" She asks speaking in the code they created.

"No the two guilds will notice if we do anything, they don't know about him yet so for now we need to keep an eye on him, we cant let them discover his abilities before he gets used to them. he isn't the fool he makes himself out to be, remember."

"Yes I remember, but how long will he need? Its only a matter of time for the Blue Lotus to discover him and he has a friend with the Silver Garden. Neither are stupid, one slip up and they'll be on him."

"True, they will discover him quite soon."

"THEN WE NEED TO HURRY!" Claire practically shouts.

"CALM DOWN CLAIRE!" the voice yells back. "I want him safe just as much as you but if we move now we'll just fall into HIS trap." The voice says.

"Yeah I know." She replies with a grunt. "I'm just worried about him is all."

"Trust me, I know." They reply sighing. Suddenly three quick beeps go off. They curse before saying, "Time to say bye, ill send you mail regarding where to go from here. Oh and use your best judgement to decide when he's ready for the package."

"Okay, would help if I knew what was in there." the voice chuckles. "Anyway ill be waiting." Claire says before they hang up. After sitting down she looks up. "Dear if your up there, do me a favor and watch over Eric, he's about to jump in down the rabbit hole and he has no idea what is going on. Guide him when he needs it and keep him safe."
