Chapter 6 by voidcaller17 voidcaller17

Well, that was unexpected

Back to Eric

I open the door to the small café and the bells chime signaling the owner.

"Hello Eric, do you want your usual?" Asks the owner, a man in his late 40's.

"Yeah, thanks Larry." I reply taking my usual seat. I use Observe on him.

Larry Hare, level 6, Title: café owner, Class: Chef

Huh, everyone I've seen so far has a title and class, meanwhile I just have question marks. I think to myself while Larry sets down my order. A ham and cheese sandwich and a cup of coffee. I open up my character sheet and after making sure no one was looking tap on my class and title boxes.

Current Class: None

Classes are something you specialize in. Having a Class gives you access to your Classes specific skill(s). When changing Classes all current Class specific skills will be removed, exept for a few exceptions, and 75% of skill Exp will be transferred to new Class skills. Will always ask to switch Classes when new one is available, cannot be reversed.

Current Title: None

Titles are achievements you've accomplished in life or something others recognize you for. Having a Title boosts stats and gives you a unique skill. Unlike Class skills, Title skills are permanent with some exeptions. If the Title skill will be lost upon changing Titles no Exp will be transferred. Will always ask to switch when new Titles are available, cannot be reversed.

So I don't have a class or title. That sucks, but at least I don't have to hesitate on accepting one when I see it. I start thinking to myself when two new popups appear.

New Quest: Titleless Buffoon

You've finally realized your Titleless, here I thought it'd be the first thing you noticed. Oh well, just go obtain one. Rewards: +3 skill points and one random rare item corresponding to your Title. Accept Y/N

New Quest: Classless Idiot

Glad you decided to think about this, it could save your life. Go obtain a Class. Rewards: +3 skill points and one random rare item corresponding to your class. Accept Y/N

I sigh as I finish reading this. So whoever gave me this 'gift' is now calling me a idiot and buffoon. Great. and now I need to think before accepting a Class or Title. I look down and tap Y on them both. I start eating my food when another customer walks in. I use Observe on her. And hear some trumpets go off.

Observe Lvl 3

Observe is now a passive and doesn't require mana. Instead of casting you just have to focus on your target. You can now see the current and max HP and MP of your target.

A passive huh. I think to myself. I finish eating and pay. After leaving and telling Larry bye I start walking back to the park. I have to stop myself from running as I think about what I'm about to do. I get to the park and head to the small secluded clearing toward the corner, hardly anyone visits. I continue to use Observe on everyone for no other reason than curiosity as to what max level Observe will do.

As I push past the last branch and enter the clearing I smile, happy that its empty. I quickly pull up my character sheet and see my health is at 67/70. I realize that to food must've given me health and make a mental note to stock up on quick to eat foods. I sit down in the middle of clearing, close my eyes and start to focus on my right hand. I want to replicate something in one of my favorite characters do. I start thinking of fire, how its made, how it spreads, and how it burns. After sitting there for what feels like an hour I open my eyes.

"Nothing." I sigh, looking at my empty hand. Then I notice my mail icon has a small number 2 on its top right. I tap on it and start laughing.

New Skill: Meditation Lvl 1, passive

By remaining still and clearing your thoughts the user boosts there natural regenerative properties, health regen doubles and mana regen triples. Alternatively the user can focus on something else and can learn a new skill however doing so will halve your natural regen.

New Skill: Flare Lvl 1, active

Allows the caster to create small flames. Flames can be channeled on an object or weapon to ignite it or be thrown from the castors hand. Deals 30% of casters intelligence as fire damage if thrown or adds 15% of casters intelligence as damage to a weapon and changes its attack to fire damage. MP cost: 5

Achievement Unlocked: Fledgling Mage

You learned your very first attack spell. Good job, now learn some more. Rewards: +3 intelligence and +1/Mana Regen Per Minute.

I open up my character sheet to see if I should continue and try for a new skill.
