Chapter 5
by Dm
Are you dead?
Nope but you might not want to celebrate yet
The first thing you noticed when you came back to, was the searing pain on the back of your head. You're not sure what you hit but that felt like it had left a mark. You would need to make sure it was nothing too bad when you would have the time.
The second thing you noticed was that you were now seated in the passenger area of a shuttle, the seat's straps preventing you from drifting away. Across from you was the blonde, strapped in a seat of her own and still looking a bit pale in the face. As for the brunette, she was currently floating above you, closing the hatch to what should be the Ark's docking port.
"Wait!" you said, removing the straps and leaving your seat "There might still be other people left."
"Well if there are, they better find another shuttle and quick cause that fucking ship is falling apart."
"We can't just leave them!"
"Listen dude!" She said, jabbing your chest with her finger. "I ain't dying cause you wanted to look around. Beside I've already completed the undocking procedures and it would take too long to go back."
"You don't know that. We might still have time to-"
You were then interrupted when, out of the corner of your eye, you saw through the shuttle's front window the first of the large gravity ring detach itself from the rest of the ship before slamming into the second one. It was now clear that the Skidbladnir had entered a thicker part of the atmosphere and anybody still left in those rings were now dead.
The brunette pushed past you and towards the pilot seat, pulling her tongue at you on the way.
You were no pilot but {if class_sec == true}you had had basic flight training when you were in the military.{elseif class_eng == true}you knew your way around shuttles. You had repaired enough of them back on mars to know enough to fly them.{elseif class_med == true}your job on Mars required you to take basic classes in case a pilot wasn't available in an emergency.{else} Error: player class not detected. Make sure game mode is turned on.{endif} The way the girl frantically looked around for the right switches on the other hand told you she probably wasn't all that used to this kind of craft.
Who should pilot?
