The Northern Part Of The City

I've been meaning to explore the city since it's so incredibly big. To find Fabe, we must go to the northern part of the city, where I have never been. From what I understand, the Queen governs [Riledo] and all the human territory in general, but the city can be said is divided into four parts. In each section, one of the three guilds has a notorious influence. The buildings of each of these three guilds are notoriously larger and more imposing than the buildings of the other guilds in the city. In addition, each of these areas are particularly different.

The south is the most commercial area. Businesses and restaurants of all kinds are seen on the streets. My guild Midnight Dawn is located in that part of the city. From what Syvis once told me, it is thanks to the business in the area that the guild managed to stay as one of the big three guilds despite the hard times. A large part of the quests that the guild receives are from merchants who require constant help from the guild to protect their products or valuables when they carry them from one place to another.

In the east is located Oblivion. Being a guild founded by nobles, it is located in the part of the city where the people with the most money live. It is a quiet and very safe area with many huge mansions. In general, anyone can walk the streets of any part of Riledo freely, but ordinary people try not to go to that area much since not only the guards but the Oblivion members themselves make sure that those who don't look like nobles have a hard time. I suppose they consider anyone who isn't noble to be a possible criminal.

On the other hand, there are primarily middle-class people in the West, and it is an area just as safe as the East, thanks to the constant care of Dark Dragons. It is a residential area, but there are also several guilds of medium or small size. They work freely, and thanks to the support and supervision of Dark Dragons, they don't have the problems that other small guilds have in other places, which makes Dark Dragons and the guilds in that area popular with new adventurers.

And finally, the north. The place where we are heading right now. It is the poorest area with little security, and by not having a big guild to maintain control, it has become an area where guilds of a small or medium-sized fight for power. It is no secret that many bandits or guilds with questionable intentions are located in that part of the city.

Then finally, located in the middle, a huge castle surrounded by enormous walls, only minor then the massive ones surrounding the city. A castle that can be seen from anywhere in the city. The place where the queen and princess live.

"Do you know how to find Fabe?" I ask Mia as we walk through the streets towards the northern part of the city.

"I have an idea, but I don't know the exact location. As far as I know, Fabe changed guild several times."

"So he doesn't have a permanent place where he stays."

"Cal told me that Fabe looked for him several times to ask him for money. He told me where he last saw Fabe. It's not sure he's still there, but maybe we can find something if we ask around." Mia said

Mia is right; we have nothing to lose by going. Looking back on the last talk I had with Cal, I'm sure he's also fed up with Fabe. As we walked, Mia and I talked about the things that happened to us after we left the village. I'm glad to see that she's feeling a little better now. After hearing what happened in the village and her family, she looked devastated.

"So tell me, Darxi, how are you doing with your girlfriend?" Mia asked out of nowhere.

"Mmm, things are going well, although we can't see each other much."

Which reminds me, I wonder if Syvis is done with her meeting at the castle by now. I'd like to see her as much as possible before going out on another quest.

"I can imagine. Being in different guilds must be difficult." Mia replied, "Some quests last weeks, and it must be not easy to stay in contact. Fortunately, Roland and I are in the same guild."

"You two seem to be getting along." I said.

"He's great! He helped me a lot with what happened recently in the village. I'm glad to have him with me, and the sex is quite good!"

"MIA!!"

"Hahaha! You haven't changed, Darxi!"

Mia seems happy when talking about Roland. I'm glad she's okay, though she still likes to make fun of me.

"Darxi, you need to be more confident, especially if you are dating a woman older than you. I'm sure that a woman like her draws a lot of attention from men, and you don't want her to leave you for somebody else, do you?"

"What? Of course not!"

"I'm curious to see what kind of woman she is. I heard that Syvis is a Dark Elf which I have to admit worries me. I've heard things about the Dark Elf race."

"Syvis is different. It's hard to explain, but there's nothing to worry about."

"Are you sure?" Mia replied with an expression of not being very convinced, "I don't want this to sound bad but her being an older woman and a dark elf above all seems to be too much for an inexperienced boy from a small village."

"As I already told you, you don't have to worry. Things between Syvis and I are fine."

"Umm, I hope you're right. I just wouldn't want you to get hurt again."

"A-Amelia and I were just friends..."

"I know..." Mia realized that I didn't want to talk about that and changed the subject, "We should all go out to eat together one of these days: you, me, Syvis, and Roland, what do you say?"

"S-Sure.."

We continue talking about unimportant things until we finally reach the northern part of the city. The change of atmosphere compared to the rest of the city is immediately noticeable. The houses and buildings are more worn, and many homeless people are on the streets. Asking for directions is also tricky as there are many groups of people in the streets with a mean look. It didn't take long for children to come up to us asking for money. A man also tried to rob us while we were distracted with the children, but we realized it, and Mia took care of it.

"The rumors weren't exaggerating when they said this was a dangerous area," I said.

"That's right. This is my second time in this place, so I don't know the area, but it seems that this is where the guild Fabe was in the last time he spoke to Cal."

The place was a small establishment that looked like a bar, but it seemed uninhabited. The windows are broken and the walls are scratched. No one answered when knocking on the door, and when looking through the windows, we could only see some boxes.

"Now what?" I said, "This place looks like it's been abandoned."

"I'm not sure. Let's go ask that guy." Mia said while pointing to a guy sitting alone on the street drinking what appeared to be liquor.

Before I could say anything, Maria walked over to where he was, and I followed behind her.

"Hey, You!" Mia said out loud, scaring the guy, "Do you know what happened to that place? Or where are the members of that guild?"

Without saying anything, from where he was sitting began to look at Mia slowly from her legs to her face with a perverted expression. After waiting a few seconds, Mia crouched in front of him and asked in a more violent way, "I'm talking to you! Do you know Fabe? He was a member of that guild."

The guy raised his head slowly, almost as if he had a hard time doing it. However, his gaze was fixed on Mia's cleavage, which was more prominent because of her posture. When we thought that he was starting to react, we saw how he slowly raised his hand and then suddenly grabbed one of Mia's breasts. Both Mia and I were shocked by what the guy did and even more so when he began to squish Mia's chest instead of moving his hand away. Before I could intervene, Mia stepped away and furiously slapped him.

"H-How dare you! Fucking pervert, you just earned yourself a direct pass to hell!"

Seeing Mia's fury, the guy tried to escape, but Mia quickly caught up with him and began to beat him up. After listening to his cries of pain for a while, I had to intervene to stop Mia.

"Mia, I think he's learned his lesson. If you continue, you're really going to kill him."

It took me a while, but I managed to stop her.

"And that's so you learn not to grope a lady. Do you understand?"

"Y-Yes..." With difficulty, the guy answered from the ground.

"Now you're going to answer our questions, got it!?" Mia continued.

After Mia calmed down and the guy on the ground recovered a bit, Mia asked the first question, "Do you know Fabe? He was a member of that guild."

"I-I don't know him."

"You're lying to me?" Mia asked as she menacingly approached him.

"I'M NOT LYING! I SWEAR!"

"Tss..., Do you at least know something about that guild?"

"A-A few days ago, soldiers came and destroyed the bar. It seems that they were selling **** there." He replies.

"Darxi!" Mia said, looking at me, "It's possible that Fabe was arrested."

"If Fabe was arrested, it would take away a lot of problems, but let's go make sure he's really in jail," I reply.

"I doubt it." The guy said, "No one was there when the guards arrived. It looks like someone tipped them off about the raid."

Our momentary joy disappeared upon hearing what he said. Unfortunately, I already suspected that dealing with Fabe would not be so easy.

"Do you know of anyone who can give us more information about Fabe?" I asked.

"I don't know, but why don't you go inside the bar? Maybe you can find some clues there."

Mia and I stare at each other. I guess we have no other choice.

"Can I go now?" The guy said.

"Yeah, piss off," Mia replied.

When he heard that he could go, the guy started running, stumbling in his eagerness to escape from Mia.

"Are you okay?" I asked Mia.

"Yeah, but what do we do now, Daxi? Shall we go inside the bar?"

"We're already here, so there's nothing to lose by going in. Let's see if they left any clues."

The place was quite old, so it was not difficult to **** the door. Inside was what we expected—a small bar with some tables and chairs broken everywhere and a bar with some broken bottles. Searching around the tables and behind the bar, we found nothing significant, but since we entered the bar, I noticed a peculiar aroma which I couldn't find where it came from since it was all over the room. It's a pleasant scent similar to that of flowers. And considering the place where we are, anyone would think that it would smell bad.

"The guards destroyed everything. They don't seem to have left anything that could tell us where Fabe is." I said while checking the place.

I expected Mia to answer me something, but she stayed silent. When I turned to see her, I saw her still and looking at the ground without saying anything. I called her one more time, "Mia? Is something wrong?"

"Oh no, i-it's nothing," Mia answered with a broken voice.

Noticing that something was strange with her, I approached her and touched her shoulder, wanting to see her face.

Mia moved away, looking scared and giving a scream that sounded more like a moan.

"Mia?"

"I-In the back, mnn..., there is a door. I-I'm going to see what's there." Mia said, hurrying to the door.

Is she feeling ill? I managed to see that her face was quite red.

Moments later, I heard Mia calling me from the room in the back of the bar, "Darxi, come here!"

I hurried, and when I entered the room, I saw Mia standing next to an open door on the floor, and inside, some stairs seemed to lead to a basement. I also immediately noticed the more intense scent of flowers coming from the basement.

"Darxi... l-looks like they really used this place to hide things." Still with a red face and a trembling voice, Mia said.

"Yeah, let's see what's downstairs."

I went down first, and Mia followed behind. Downstairs was a room the same size as the bar. There were a lot of broken boxes and bottles on the floor, and likewise, the scent of flowers was very strong.

"Mia, be careful with what you touch. We do not know what kind of **** they kept in this place."

I imagine that the smell comes from the liquid in the broken bottles on the ground.

"Darx... we... have to get out... of this place."

When I turned to see Mia, she sat on the floor with her face red and her breathing agitated. I rushed to her to try to help her.

"Don't touch me! P-Please don't touch me or otherwise I... I remember now... what this scent is..."

I don't understand what is happening, but Mia looks agitated and at the same time as if she has no strength. Whatever it is in this place, it is clearly affecting Mia. Ignoring what she told me, I tried to help her stand up to get her out of this place. Once she was on her feet, I wanted to pick her up, but she started caressing my chest and kissing my neck.

I have no idea how many they are, but if it gets violent, the situation will be hard to escape with Mia. What should I do? While I was trying to find a way to escape with Mia, I saw the guy from before in the crowd. It seems that he brought them here, and now that I think about it, he likely suggested that we go in to check the place, even knowing that we wouldn't find anything on Fabe to give him time to ambush us.

"I heard you were looking for me."

From the crowd, I hear a familiar voice. Moments later, appearing within a group, Fabe shows up.

"Fabe...!"

Fabe and I have always had a rivalry since we were kids. We could never get along and we had a lot of fights where I lost as many as I won. However, although I didn't like him, I always thought he was a strong guy. He was tall, skilled and had a muscular body, so I thought he would have no problem being an adventurer. But now, the Fabe in front of me has lost a lot of that. He is quite thin, and of his imposing presence, only the memory remains since his gaze now seems that of a madman. Just like Cal said, Fabe fell into ****, and it destroyed him.

"What happened to Mia? Don't tell me she was in the basement!? Hahaha! I always wanted to fuck her, and the time has come."

Hearing Fabe's intentions, I drew my swords. I'm not going to let anyone near Mia.

"You haven't changed anything, Darx. Do you still think that you are a noble knight? For that reason, you never fucked Amelia when you had the chance, and it was Kase who fucked her many times without you noticing. Hahaha!"

"Shut up! I'm not here to listen to you."

"Then what is a member of Midnight Dawn doing here? As you can see, this place cannot offer you the luxuries you must be used to." Fabe said sarcastically.

"I'm here to stop you. I'm not going to let you near Oliver and Emma."

Fabe's mocking countenance from a few moments ago disappeared and turned into a serious one with a look full of hate.

"Emma is my bitch, and you and Oliver stole her from me. I also found out that Emma had my baby. It doesn't surprise me of all the times I've fucked her. I'm just claiming what's mine. Once I kill the little pig and punish Emma for leaving me, I'll forgive her and we can start over."

Fabe is crazier than before. It's pretty clear that talking to him won't get anywhere. The only way to stop him if he is not arrested is to take his life. But it is impossible in this situation. All of his companions have weapons. Even if my rank is higher than most, if they all attack me at once, I don't think I can win, let alone protect Mia. And even more so, if at least one of them is of my rank, everything will be even more complicated.

"You will pay too, Darx. You will be the beginning of my ****." Fabe said with a crazy smile, "And once I'm done with you, Mia will entertain us all for a while, Hahaha!"

I will do whatever it takes to protect Mia. I was ready to summon my owl when I heard screams and a large number of soldiers running in our direction.

"Shit!"

"Soldiers, run!"

"Fuck!"

The group of bandits began to run in all directions as they saw the soldiers approaching.

"See you soon, Darx!" Fabe told me before running off too.

"Wait!"

I wanted to run after him, but I couldn't leave Mia alone here in her state.

The soldiers ran after the bandits while a guy in armor ran up to where Mia was.

"Mia! Are you okay? Answer me, please!"

"I'm fine..." Mia answered, still moaning and with a red face.

"Who are you?" I ask him.

"My name is Roland. I'm Mia's boyfriend."

"You must be Darx,"

Before I could answer, a soldier approached me, asking me to tell him what had happened. It seems that Roland was worried about Mia and asked for help from the guards since he thought she would be in trouble. I don't know the details of how Roland knew we would be here, but he was right and he really saved us.

The soldier who was questioning me seemed to be in charge, so I told him what I knew and how dangerous Fabe is. Once he found out about the guild I belong to, he took my words more seriously and promised to do what he could to stop Fabe. I also learned a bit about the gang Fabe belongs to and the **** they sell. It seems that it is a **** that puts women in uncontrollable ecstasy. Now I fully understand why Mia was behaving that way.

Once I finished with the questions, I looked for Mia and Roland, but they weren't where I left them. After searching for them for a few minutes, I found them in an alley. Seeing them, I quickly turned around and walked away since what I saw surprised me. Mia was on her knees in front of Roland sucking his dick. It seems that the effects of the **** are still affecting Mia. It will be awkward if I wait for them. Now that Mia is with Roland, everything should be fine. I think it's time to go home and see if Syvis has finished her meetings at the castle.

As soon as I walked down the street, I felt again that someone was watching me. It's the same feeling I've been feeling lately. Is it my imagination, or is someone watching me?
