The next morning, Ellen felt a bit strange. She should have a slight hangover from celebrating the previous night.

"06:30. I only slept for 5 hours. Why do I feel so alive and awake? Strange for a Hangover."

Come 07:30, the rest of the staff had come into the lab to continue their research and look at other projects that could now be started on now that the main objective had been finally achieved. It wasn't completed, but it had been achieved.

It wasn't until the afternoon that one of the staff members had found a suitable candidate to try the nanobots on.

"Sorry Ellen. But I have found a patient in Addenbrookes hospital that might be worth having a look at."

"Really. This soon. Give me the details." Ellen seemed to be calm. But inside she was a bundle of nerves. "Could this be it." She thought to herself as Ricky sat across the desk.

"Patient in question is a 19 year old male. Name of Steven Dawson. Diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour last year and is now currently on palliative care. Not expected to make it to the end of the week. No history of criminal activity. Was given a civilian award for valour 2 years ago. Apparently he saved a child from a house fire before emergency services arrived on the scene. If someone deserves a second chance of life. He's the one."

"Brilliant work Ricky. I'll make contact with the family and the hospital and make the proposal to them." Picking up the phone. Ricky then dismissed himself to carry on with other tasks. Before he left Ellen stopped him. "Thank you Ricky. Take the rest of the day off. Fully paid. Take the kids out for the day. No arguments." Then beamed. "Now hop it." Both supressed the need to laugh and Ricky headed on his way. Then Ellen dialled the number to the hospital.

2 hours later, Ellen was at the Hospital talking with head surgeons explaining to them she had a new experimental treatment that could potentially save lives and would like permission to try and use it on the young Steven who was close to ****. Steven's mother was also present at the meeting. She was the only one who was willing to try the procedure. As it was her son's life hanging in the balance, it was her decision. The surgeons, as sceptical as they were, agreed to let Ellen try and save his life. The nanobots were instructed to go in and destroy the tumour and repair what damage they can. Again though, the nanobots used the time to replicate more of their numbers. And the source of raw material, the tumour itself.

Several hours passed. The nanobots had successfully destroyed the tumour by turning it into more bots, repaired all the damage done to the area as well as anything they could find in the rest of his body. The extra bonus was the work they done on his reproductive organs.
