Changes

Knowing about world events doesn’t mean that you get to participate in them. Despite all the excitement, there’s no real change in your daily life. Not that you’re complaining, you and the girls are quite happy as things are. Still, word of big changes filters down to you, and you can see how things will only get more interesting from here.

The biggest change actually affects your group the least, in the moment. The word has gotten out that not only is this prophesied hero from the new world, but he also supposedly altered the portal, making it no longer one way. If this is true, it means that taking the girls to visit your old world is possible.

The thought is met with mixed reactions. Julie immediately waves it off. “I just got here, and I’m smothered with love and affection, and great sex! Why would I go back to where I had nothing, and no one cared?”

Naia, for once, is in the opposite side. “Ooh, you gotta take us to visit, Greg! I wanna see where you came from!”

As always, Helja is the voice of reason. “It’s not like we could leave right now, even if we wanted to. The rumors of war means that things are ramping up at the workshop. And besides, I highly doubt that it’s as simple as just walking through.”

Sanni nods. “I would expect both sides to become guarded checkpoints very quickly.”

You smile, and put an end to the argument. “I’m sure we’ll get a chance to visit sometime. But for now, let’s worry about taking care of things here.”

Naia pouts, of course. The surprise is seeing a bit of disappointment from Aisha and Marin as well. You make a mental note in the back of your mind that there’s more enthusiasm for a new world visit than you expected.

There’s another change as well, less world-changing to be sure, but much more immediate to your group. One day you and the girls from the workshop arrive home to find Julie and Naia waiting for you. Julie looks a bit nervous, while the raptor girl bounces excitedly.

Before you can ask, Naia blurts out the answer. “Julie and I got a job! We’re working together!”

You blink in surprise, and Julie nods. “I hope you don’t mind. We were just wandering around the city, and we found this bar, it’s the coolest place!”

Naia cuts in. “It’s a place that caters to travelers! They want me to be a waitress and Julie gets to be a bartender!”

You look at Julie, who shrugs. “I’ve always wanted to try it, and apparently they’re happy to teach me.”

You smile. “Well, I certainly don’t mind, I’m just curious as to why?”

Julie sighs. “I was getting bored, honestly. Lylah and Aisha seem to love the home life, but Naia and I wanted something different. Don’t worry, it’s not like it’s a titty bar or anything.”

She looks down at her small chest. “Not like I have much to show off anyway!”

Naia giggles. “Speak for yourself! You know everyone wants a piece of this!”

The raptor girl spins around and smacks her butt, her tail waving excitedly. Everyone laughs, and you roll your eyes. “Naia, I’m not going to be dealing with you driving people crazy with teasing, am I?”

Naia just grins, smacking her butt again.
