Give Her a Name

"There we go..." Dave thought as he felt the water from his shower warm up to a nice toasty temperature. Dave had instructed the nameless woman to wait for him in the living room while he took a shower. "What the hell am I going to do with her?" Dave pondered as the warm water from the shower fell upon his head. "I guess I need to give her name first..." Dave grabbed some shampoo and went to work washing his hair. "Suki?... No that's too stereotypical... Plus she's clearly mixed race..." Dave rinsed the shampoo out of his hair. "Megan?... Maybe.... But it seems a bit young for her..." Dave grabbed his bottle of conditioner. "What about Jeannie?... Hmm..." Dave began to think about the show he was watching the night before.

Rinsing out his hair Dave grabbed a bottle of body wash. "But she's not a genie..." Dave thought as he soaped up his body. "What about Barbara? Hmmm...." Dave pictured Barbara Eden portraying Jeannie. "That might work... Barbara... Barbie... Barb... Babs... There's a lot of options there.... I like it!" Dave began rinsing off the body wash. "Now... Do I get her clothes?" Dave pondered as the warm water bounced off his skin. "I mean I can't have her just walking around naked all day... And definitely not looking like that." Dave pictured her short pudgy wrinkled body. "I guess I could just buy something cheap for now..." Dave cringed. "Damn I don't want to go to Walmart...."

Dave spent the next several minutes planning out his morning. "Alright I get groceries, get her clothes, and get my ass back here. If she really is what … or who she says she is, then she should be here when I get back. If not I guess I'm getting robbed..." Dave got out of the shower and dried off. Walking back out in the living room Dave saw the nameless woman standing where he had left her.

"What are we going to do now?" She asked with a smile.

"Huh... You didn't move did you?" Dave asked.

She shook her head no. "You told me to wait right here for you. So I did."

"I see... Were you bored?" Dave asked.

"Should I be?" The woman asked back.

Dave lightly shook his head. "Okay... anyways I am going get dressed and then I am going to get groceries and something for you to wear" The woman nodded yes and Dave went and got dressed. Dave returned to the living room with a blanket in his hands. The woman still stood where he had left her. "For now you can wrap up in this blanket." Dave said handing the blanket to the woman. The woman wrapped the blanket around her nude body and patiently waited for Dave's next instructions. "God this is weird..." Dave said as he looked over to the couch. "Okay how about this. Do you want to watch TV?" The woman shrugged at Dave. "That's not a no, so how about you watch TV while I am gone? Go get comfy on the couch and I will put something on for you."

The woman shuffled over to the couch and laid down. "What am I going to watch?" She asked.

"Good question..." Dave said as he pulled up Netflix. After a bit of browsing he settled on Community. "Here you can watch this. If the do you want to continue message pops up just hit yes. Otherwise just try to enjoy it and maybe even... learn from it? I don't know. Just don't leave the condo while I am gone."

"Can do!" She said with a smile.

Dave grabbed his keys and got ready to head out. "O before I leave. I came up with a name for you in the shower." The woman looked eager to hear her new name. "Your new name will be Barbara."

"Barbara...? Barbara... Barbara! I like it!" She said excitedly.

"Good. Now I'll be back in a bit." Dave said as he headed out the door.
