A kennel is willing to pay what?

An ad for a kennel caught Jessie’s attention because of the pay listed next to it. Jessie clicked on it and read what it said:

• A girls Puppy Kennel and shelter

• Looking for caretaker slash trainer, must be comfortable with animals, willing to work night and weekend shifts, must be able to lift 100 plus pounds at times.

• Starting pay is $30/hour, Overnight shift bonuses, uniforms and boots provided, uniform allowance on top of pay

Must send measurements and photo with application

Jessie cocked her head and wondered what was going on with this, but decided, what the hell, why not. Jessie clicked to fill out the application, it asked a bunch of questions, not just about her work history or measurements. Last there was a request for a passport style photo (no posing or filters please). Jessie took one with her laptop’s built-in web camera and attached it. Jessie hit send and went on to look for another option.

“What the hell?” Jessie jumped at the ping from her phone, “Thank you for submitting an application… blah blah blah, Girls’ Puppy Kennel and Shelter HR department will contact you. Yeah…”

Jessie looked at an ad for a Goth club wanting waitresses. She started filling out the application when her phone rang. The Caller ID said “Girls Puppy Ken”

“Hello?” Jessie said as she answered the phone, “Yeah, I am available today, three hours? In two hours? Sure, I can be there, wear jeans and a shirt… sure I can do that.”

Jessie wrote down some instructions and smiled into the phone.

Jessie yelled at her dad that she had a job interview and would be back later as she left and made her way to the address. To her surprise the building was an office building in the middle of town with not signage out front. Shrugging, Jessie went to the door and punched in the lock code the HR lady had given her and walked in side.
