The Trial begins!

You enter the room, the door closing itself behind you. The room was not much bigger than the first room where you left your clothes, and most of it is a shallow pit, a little less than knee-deep. You see that the pit is filled with what looks like some kind of creature that looks just like a feather, but with a head at the tip end of the "feather" like a fish would have. They even wriggle and flop around like fish. Fluffy lil' guys, and in different circumstances you might have even found them cute. With the door being on the other end of the room and the pit spanning all of the width of the room, it would seem that the only way to the next room is to wade through these creatures.

Next, you look to your right, where an open chest sits. Inside, you see two pairs of shoes. One looks to be a pair of strappy sandals with a 3-inch heel: nothing you aren't used to. The other is a pair of over-knee boots, with an intimidating 6-inch stiletto heel and... is that a chain connecting them together at the ankle? The thin chain looks to be maybe 40cm long, which would significantly hinder your stride and movement, not to mention the height of the heels. It doesn't take you long to decide to reach for the sandals, when you hear Yimmira start to speak.

"First room looks like a piece of cake, doesn't it? Well, I'll just tell you that you've probably never seen these featherfish before, because they're actually a material used in enchanting that Her Holiness uses to... erm, enhance clothing and equipment. She creates them herself, and she's real fond of 'em! A featherfish can enchant things on contact, and their enchantment effect is... quite intuitive, I'll say, so I'm sure a mage like you could figure it out!"

You scoff at the lack of naming creativity of these featherfish, and cast Trithia's Perception on the footwear.

So whichever one I choose, I'm stuck with it. Obviously the sandals would be much easier to manage, but the boots would save my legs from having to touch those featherfish... and the featherfish can't enchant the boots... but how bad can the enchantment really be... bad enough to subject myself to 6-inch heels and an ankle chain?
