Makkari (Marvel's Eternals)

Makkari is an Eternal with the ability of super speed who came to Earth to protect humanity from the Deviants.

Makkari, who has become over the ages remembered as the god Mercury by humans, was an Eternal sent to Earth by the Celestials to stave off Deviant threats early in human history so that intelligent civilization could flourish. She channels her cosmic energy into advanced speed, and also possesses notable durability and raw strength. She's a bit of a collector, stowing away trinkets from across her long stay on Earth on the Domo, the Eternal flagship. Like the other Eternals, she is conflicted but compassionate about the humans that have been her mission for millennia.

Makkari does not speak but has mastered sign language to communicate to her fellow Eternals and to humans, with Kingo usually being her vocal translator if needed. She is headstrong but not egocentric, reaching conclusions and offering counsel at nearly the same speed as her powers allow her to move. She has a sense of humor but is both socially savvy and introverted, preferring to acquire and study trinkets or read texts in her spare time when not protecting the humans.
