Chapter 7 by globalman1235

How did Nurse Ashley's first night shift go?

Uneventful, without any incidents.

Noticing the sun slowly starting to rise over the trees through the front door of the Pokémon-Center, Ash knew that her night shift was slowly coming to a close. Having had ample of time to look around, as there had been no trainers that needed the aid of a nurse over the course of the night, she was able to find the timetable for the shifts which indicated that Nurse Joy would be taking over at 10am. This left her with only two more hours work, though she hoped that her sister would be getting up and returning the room key earlier than that. And indeed, only about 20 minutes later, her sister was the first person of the day to enter the lobby.

"Good morning, Sis," Iris said with a yawn, walking over to the desk Ash stood behind. "How was your shift?"

"Good morning, Iris. It was fairly uneventful, so I didn't have a lot to do," Ash replied. "What about you, sleep well?"

"Yeah, I got some really good sleep and should easily be able to reach Pallet Town today," she said as she handed Ash her room key. "I'm really happy I got to stop by on the way there. It's too bad we don't see each other too often, with you working in another region and all."

"Me too," Ash began, taking the room key and putting it with the others. "But we made the best of the time we had yesterday."

"As we always do, Ashley," Iris said with a smile. "But I should get back on the road now. I hope the rest of your shift stays this calm and you get some nice sleep later."

"Thanks, I hope so too," Ash replied. "Good luck on your journey, sis!"

With Iris having said goodbye, she turned around and made her way towards the front door. Now Ash had to decide quickly. If she wanted to rejoin Iris on her journey, she needed to use one of the buttons on her, but she wasn't sure which one would be the most useful for that. She could also just rely on luck, using one of the yet unknown buttons and hope that it worked out well, but that would be very risky. Lastly, she could also just stay as a nurse for now. Sure, she didn't exactly know how to do the job, but Nurse Joy had mentioned that, even in this reality, she was new to the job, so she would surely be able to get some pointers from her.

What did she decide on?
