An odd challenge

The Forgefather smiles as he approaches. “Sorry I’m late, things are quite busy. Yes, I set this up. I have a special project I need done, and rather than simply assigning it, I thought this might be a good way to build camaraderie among you. I know that there’s some history here, and we will need to be willing to work together in the future.”

Helja nods. “I can assure you that there’s no bad blood here, Forgefather!”

Unir smiles. “I’ve told you before, dear. Just Unir is fine in private. Regardless, this is also a test of your skills. I’m going to be asking you all to create something that is outside your expertise.”

Andrew speaks up. “Is that why we’re in a forge rather than a engineering workshop?”

Unir nods. “Just so. My project requires skills beyond engineering. I would task a weapon smith or an armorer, but they’re busy at my forge now. Therefore, you’ll be working here!”

He gestures around. Looking around, even with you’re limited experience in a forge you can tell that this place is well stocked and huge. The team that runs the place normally must be twenty or more people!

Hayley is the first to speak. “So, what will we be making?”

Unir smiles. “One team will make a set of weapons, the other a set of armor and a shield.”

Nina looks at him curiously. “That’s it? That seems rather simple, even for people not used to making arms and armor.”

He chuckles. “Well that’s the thing. I expect it to be finished in a day. You all have exceptional talent, and there’s another step once you’re finished.”

Looking between the two groups, he nods. “Therefore, I think you’d better get started. Good luck. Helja’s team, you’re making weapons, and Andrew’s team is making armor. Designs are up to you, I want two weapons and one set of armor by tomorrow.”
