Prepare for the Coronation

Geralt is right to a point, for once. Being indulgent, even excessive to a fault can be accepted among the royalty, but looking or smelling like a dirty commoner on a day such as this would be unforgivable, even here. You maneuver through the halls of the castle, giving gentle recognition of the servants and attendants in the passageway, none of them remarking or even surprised to see you naked like this. Everyone is bustling around with great activity, not just for the coronation, but for the ball and feast that is to accompany it. With diplomacy comes the expectation of being gracious and benevolent hosts, and your kingdom certainly has a reputation to maintain in that regard.

You easily navigate your way to the baths. Like most of the spaces in the castle, it's built to accommodate a large crowd in case of "festivities". You suspect it may get some heavy use prior to the foreign guests departing, but for the moment, you have the place to yourself.

Nearly, at least. Sitting at a small chair near the door is Bruja, an withered old man who still has a surprising amount of energy. He's served as one of your mothers faithful advisors, and is also the kingdom's chief Archivist, and has been known to dabble in the arcane. Without prompting, upon your arrival he claps twice and points towards the bath you are heading to, warming it immediately.

You sigh contently as you enter the calming waters "Thank you Bruja, and good morning. How are you faring today?" You sit in the large bath, your entire body immersed except for your head so that you can still communicate with him.

The old man moves slowly to you, clutching his staff tightly "every day is a challenge Your Majesty, but every day I survive is a victory. I've made it long enough to see you become Queen, so I may now rest easy, I believe"

"Aw, that's very sweet Bruja, but don't worry, I'm sure you have a good amount of time still among us. You're too stubborn to go now, there's still more to document"

Bruja laughs quietly, trying to resist it becoming a cough "Yes, quite true my dear. You've always been perceptive to a man's heart, just like your mother was, and is why I have great faith in your future."

"Thank you Bruja. Speaking of, have you seen my mother yet this morning?"

"Not as of yet, Your Majesty. I suspect she's enjoying some alone time with her betrothed, before she's thrown into the chaos and constant attention of a royal ball. I had hoped to discuss some matters before the events of the day, but given today being your coronation, I believe I should start addressing them to you."

Your eyes open, giving your advisor your proper attention "Yes? What is it?" There is some concern in your voice, which Bruja notably picked up.

"It's nothing for you to be immediately worried about Your Majesty. Some minor matters that require your attention, but nothing that can't wait two days, so that you may enjoy and focus on your day of jubilee without concern, as well as that of your Mother."
