How does dinner go?

Poorly

Daphne spent a while looking at old photos of her and Fred when they were together just for popularity. Then she left him to go date the vermin that was Velma Dinkley; she'd left her soul mate to go after filth, which was as close as damnation she'd get to without literally jumping into hell.

Daphne held her head into her pillow and screamed, kicking her feet out as she lay in bed, unable to hold back her frustrations at her current situation. After she screamed into the pillow for what seemed like a solid minute, she put it back at the head of the bed and just lay there thinking about how she'd fix the current situation.

She had spent a good bit of time trapped in loop in her own head trying to figure out how to go about starting her becoming Fred's lesbian friend plan when she heard a knock on her bedroom door.

"Daphne, honey, it's dinner time. Come down and eat." Donna Blake said quickly before quickly making her way back to the dining room. Donna Blake was a short redhead that was a bit overweight.

"Okay, mom, I'm coming." Daphne yelled back through the door, hoping having a full stomach might help her think of a solution. So she quickly made her way over to the dinner table where her other lesbian mom was waiting for her, Linda Blake, who was a tall, thin black woman with short hair.

Once they all sat down, they began to eat. It was only once they were done with their meal that Daphne's mom's looked at each other, a silent conversation passing between their eyes before Donna turned to look Daphne in the eyes.

"Daphne, honey, we couldn't help but notice you came home in a bit of a rush. Was everything okay at school?" Donna asked in a gentle tone, trying to be careful and not cause Daphne to be defensive, as teenagers were prone to being.

"Everything was fine; just a shift in priorities is all." Daphne said very deliberately, trying to be as vague as possible, knowing she couldn't cover up something that happened with her hurried entrance, but she didn't have to get specific.

"Alright then, and what priorities are shifting exactly? Donna asked with a firm tone as both parents looked at Daphne with firm gazes, using their years on the **** to intimidate their daughter, which was a bit overkill.

Daphne broke after a bout a minute and a half. "I don't like Velma anymore." Daphne suddenly blurted out in a panic, trying to get it out quickly. Both parents looked at her stunned for a moment before broking out in huge smiles.

"Wonderful honey, we always thought you could do better." Linda said her voice excited that their beautiful daughter wouldn't be with the brown gremlin and could now find someone who was her true match.

"Wait a minute, you said a change in priorities. So who are you into now?" Donna was excited at finding out who her daughter was into now, showing that no matter the age or the sexual persuasion, women were always interested in romance.

Daphne looked down for a second, thinking about how she should go about this and how she could hide her interest in Fred because her parents wouldn't approve, but all things considered, if they found out later it would make things worse, so better to come clean now.

"It's Fred. I've started to see the positives in Fred and what makes him a great guy. The things I missed before." Daphne said trying to be as calm as possible, knowing the wrong word here could send the two after him like bloodhounds.

"Hmmm, Fred is it." Donna said, giving Linda a quick look that seemed to convey a lot of meaning before she looked back to Velma. "Alright, Daphne, well, it's wonderful you found someone you like after you left such a toxic relationship already." Donna said in a sweet voice, trying to sound as supportive as possible.

"Thanks, I guess." Daphne said she felt a bit confused and worried that she'd set something in motion with her mom's and Fred that she'd really wish she hadn't but she couldn't do anything about it now. "Well, I guess I'll head to my room now." Daphne said as she headed back to her room.

"Of course, sweety, have a nice night; don't let the bed bugs bite." Linda said as both she and Donna waved Daphne good night. They both waited there at the dinner table until they heard the sound of Daphne shutting her door. "Well, it looks like we gotta go check on Fred," Linda said to Donna.

"Agreed, you gotta make sure Fred isn't using hypnosis or any other sort of illegal substance on her precious Daphne." Donna said she agreed with Linda in a firm tome as they made a plan to drop off Daphne at school tomorrow and then pull Fred to the side to have a little chat.

How does Fred fare on this ambush?
