“I must say, I enjoy myself immensely”, Lindsey said with a smile.

“I am happy to hear it. Susan was a complete disappointment. You seem to appreciate the joy of a slow and drawn out **** much more. We have an entire year to play around with her. There is no reason to rush.”

“But Marcie”, Lindsey said, continuing smiling. “Why only a year?”

“Because that's when my power over her will wear off.” I lied.

“I see. In other words we need to completely destroy her before the year is over.”

I was silent.

“Marcie?”

“Yes”, I agreed. “That is the plan. However it's not like we can just contend ourselves with Gina. By the time the year is over I intend to have full control.”

“Of Royal magnificent?”

“Of the school.”

I could see a grin creeping up on Lindsey's face

“This school is truly rotten. We can't expect any help from the teachers. Half of them are bought, the other half blackmailed into silence. So we have to take matters into our hand. Why should we bend the knee to some idiotic jocks or equally brainless cheerleaders? It is time for the true elite to rise up and create a healthy study environment for everyone.”

“Is that what you are planning to do?”

“Walk with me Lindsey.”

We did so for a couple of minutes in silence before I addressed her again. “What do you think is the most important quality of a Ruler?”

“It's length?”

“Hilarious, do you intend to become my hand or my jester?”

“Fear”, Lindsey finally replied calmly.

“I thought you would say that.” I looked over the deserted school yard. “A ruler needs to be feared, but he must never be hated. That was Gina's mistake. You meanwhile are feared but In no position of power and I am hated, but nobody fears me.”

“And so you want me to become your fear. “Lindsey smiled. “Sounds like a needless step if you ask me.”

“You are smart Lindsey, but don't presume to much. Stay with me and you will go far, try to raise above me and I will crush you like Susan.”

“I am not Susan.”

“Neither am I Gina.” I looked her directly in the eye and we both started to smile.

“I told you, I am just here to have fun with Gina. I play your little game of thrones if that is needed, but I have no intention of ever becoming more then a piece.”

“Good, did you make any progress on your assignment?”

“You mean the one you gave me this morning? Look, i'm good, but not that good.”

“I suppose that was to be expected. Don't underestimate Marel.”

“Yes, for someone with such bazookas she certainly as a shrewdness to her, Lauren on the other hand...”

“Yes?”

“She is cunning, I give her that. But its the kind of cunning you find on a weasel. Always waiting for her chance to strike, always playing it safe.”

“And you plan to exploit that?”

Lindsey shrugged. “I think its a weak point worth drilling into. Mind if use Gina for it?”

“What have you in mind?”

“No idea, but I rather have permission now then not have it when inspiration strikes.”

I sighed. “As long as It doesn't destroy Gina's reputation, or her will to life, fine.”

“Excellent, I think you will be very pleased with the result.”

While we talked we arrived at our destination. A small clubroom belonging to the female only chess club. There was a match going on and the girls (two players, one spectator) all let out a little yelp when I entered unannounced.

“The chess club?” Lindsey asked amused. “What could you possible want from them?"

Lindsey's reaction was to be expected. The chess club, having a grand total of three members, barely qualified to be part of the lords. Still, being a club they have a minor vote in school affairs, their powerbase hovering around 1%

“Good evening my ladies”, I smiled at them. They all looked like you except girls in a chess club to look, Glasses, braid hair, Freckles. Frankly, it was almost offensively cliche.

“G-good evening”, the girl that wasn't playing replied. “How can we help you?”

“Well, I have a proposition for you.”
