Path to Mesagoza

I take out the Pokedex to see what pokemon I want to catch in the route to Mesagoza, I know there were pokemon I could catch on my way to the lighthouse, but I almost never caught pokemon from that route in my playthroughs, as cute as the little pig is. To my surprise there are more pokemon in here then were in the game, and some pokemon arnt in the correct routes, but I guess that makes sense if they arnt trapped in the confines of the route by game mechanics.
Going through the pokemon found on this route, I see one that will be perfect for both the first gym and the journey in general, Caterpie. Sure Butterfree doesn't have the highest stats, but it being a flying type that can learn status moves makes it great in my opinion, and I can swap out for Frosmoth later on. Ill make sure to catch a Flabebe there to.

I start down on the path and see plenty of pokemon roaming around, so I decide to use the chance to train Jasmine, since there are plenty of water types here.
"Honey, would you mind searching for a male Caterpie while I train up Jasmine a bit, your psychic skills would probably make it easier to find such a small pokemon." I ask.
"Sure, but you owe me for this later." I hear her say in my head. She walks off towards the trees while I bring Jasmine out of her pokeball.
For the next 20 minutes I just have Jasmine use Leafage on a bunch of buizel to get to level 12, the buizel stopping coming out after that.
Honey comes back a while later with a Caterpie suspended in the air with her telekinesis.
"Thank you Honey, im not good at climbing trees to get to where they nest." I move over and give her a kiss before grabbing one of the pokeballs from the bag and tossing it at the caterpie, catching it in one go.
"I grabbed the strongest one I could find" she replies in my head.
I scan it with the Rotom phone

Its already got Bug bite so that's good, it means the Metapod will have a decent attack move and evolving it will go by quickly.
I decide to train it right away and try to fully evolve it before getting to the school. I start out by having it attack Hoppips till it goes up a level to evolve into a Metapod, and then go after the trainers on this route that have a Lachonk, the Chewtle, and the Bounsweet.
With Metapod's speed being abysmal I teach him to propel himself using stringshot to move around and tell him to use Bug Bite once he gets within range.
By the time we made it to Mesagoza Metapod was very close to evolving, and I saw Nemona standing outside the gates, so I decided to challenge her. She hadn't been where she was in the game, so I wondered where I would meet her, but of course she would still want to be the final challenge before entering the city to whoever wanted to come through.
