"Susan, its in text form, we don't need to do a recap" said Lindsey, "anyway, readers, we're back. Welcome to part 2 of Lindsey and Susan read Hard Candy. We're gonna read chapters 16-30"

READING IN PROGRESS

"I'm surprised Marcie didn't have a problem with us making Gina get only Fs" said Susan, "and I gotta wonder how Gina even became queen of No-Name High-"

"Apparently, its called Noname High" said Lindsey.

"Whats the difference?"

"It drives Gambio up the wall when you call it No-Name High"

"Its literally the same spelling. Are we pronouncing it wrong? Is it not pronounced 'No Name'?"

"I also assumed it to be pronounced this way but you do have a point about how Gina even became queen with her circumstances. I mean she apparently has no allowance which I find hard to believe. Surely the court order would **** her mom to give her a decent allowance for lunch and shit. And I doubt someone in Gina's situation would waste that money on designer clothes and mobile phones, she'd just be trying to survive and never would have any chance of ruling the school"

"Didn't she have that convertible as well?" asked Susan, "how did Gina even get the court order at all? And I don't mean to be shallow or anything but why would Marel prefer Gina's skin and bones look over me?"

"It might be more to do with Gina's status as queen than anything else" said Lindsey.

"I wouldn't have minded Gina having to push a boulder up a hill, preferably naked. Also, the idea of her being fucked in the ass for 5 bucks idea has some real potential. Its a shame Gambio didn't go with that. I did like the role reversal of my situation with Gina, making her eat trash and pissing on her"

"That was my favourite bit though I do find it hard to believe that would be enough to break Gina. Being pissed on is actually quiet mild compared to the candy bar up the ass. Other me seems to understand this as she argues this very point. The thing about other Susan is that she doesn't come across as being as stupid as Marcie makes out. She sounds like she's just book dumb"

"Plus, a lot of the things Marcie has Gina doing like that stupid outfit or walking round in Tom's underwear kinda goes against the whole queen look anyway. She's also fine with Lindsey's idea of having Gina publicly humiliate herself everyday. If I'm a moron, then Marcie's a moron"

"Other me does call Susan a gnat, but I think she might have been trying to vouch that its not her fault"

"Whats a gnat?" asked Susan.

LOOKING UP GNAT IN PROGRESS

"I'M NOT A FLYING INSECT, I'M A HUMAN!" screamed Susan.

"Again, I don't think other me meant it literally" said Lindsey, "and like I said, I think she was just trying to protect you from Marcie's wrath"

"But it was her idea to close the door on the roof"

"She knows that if she's too direct, Marcie will backstab her as well. She's gotta play this smart if she wants to save you and Frank"

"As for Frank, I'm not sure if humiliating him is gonna help him overcome his **** doormatness and didn't Marcie use Frank's money for herself anyway? That must've sent him mixed messages"

"Yes, he probably thinks that Marcie will punish him if he does accept the money. I'm not convinced she actually cares about him, Susan or other me. In fact, I do believe she might have been planning on betraying Susan the whole time"

"This section really upsets me" said Susan, "I was loyal to Marcie and how does she reward loyalty? She betrays me to Gina"

"I think Gambio might have intended for this to karmic retribution for Susan pissing on Gina. Unfortunately, because of what a horrible person Gina is, I ended up cheering for Susan and viewing Marcie's actions as a moral event horizon that only made me want to give Susan a hug"

Lindsey took a deep breath.

"Even from a narrative standpoint, the decision of swapping out sidekicks is pointless. Everything other me does is something Gambio could have just had Susan do. Or he could have just had Marcie recruit me from the start instead of Susan"

"What kind of monster hands someone over to Gina as a **** to let off steam with? Especially someone who was previously abused by her for five years. Marcie basically just puts me through the very thing that made me want **** on Gina in the first place"

"Yeah, its particularly vile" said Lindsey, "Marcie actually blames the victim and tells her that she has to earn the forgiveness of her own abuser. She really takes the crown as the most horrific protagonist. Move over chick from Omniworld! Marcie Storm is the ultimate evil! All of a sudden, I no longer feel sorry for her being **** by Marel"

"And shouldn't Marcie have been cursed?" asked Susan, "I mean the reason Gina was cursed was because of what a horrible person she is, right? Well, Marcie is a horrible person so she should be cursed too"

"Yes, that is a plot hole. Honestly, and she calls me a psychopath. I'd like to state for the record that despite how my wanting to chop Rina's hand off sounds, I'm actually not a psychopath. You see, I despise psychopaths and think they should all be rounded up and tortured to ****. And that wouldn't make any sense if I was a psychopath myself. Anyway, a sociopath might be a more accurate term to describe Marcie"

"Same thing" shrugged Susan.

Lindsey slammed a big psychology book on the table, making a big thud. She opened the book and turned to 'Sociopath'.

"She's self-centred, manipulative, superficially charming, lacks empathy, has an overarching egotism. She's anti-social because we never hear any mention of her having friends before she takes control of Gina and she even has lesser known symptoms of sociopathy like lack of intense fear"

"Damn, you'd think Gambio was setting Marcie up as the villain. Also, you just happen to carry round a big psychology book round with you? Well, she does feel a little sick about the breathing permission"

"Honestly, that actually makes her even worse" said Lindsey, "I mean what she did to Susan is far more psychologically damaging but she doesn't seem to care if she commits suicide. To add insult to injury, Gina physically can't do that so Marcie doesn't need to be as careful with her"

"So let me get this straight, Marcie makes it impossible for Gina to harm herself and goes out her way to make sure she isn't too broken. But no such consideration is given for Gina's victims? I'm so glad, you got to Gina first in our route"

"Lets move onto the nose picking" said Lindsey.

"Are we supposed to get off on it?" asked Susan, "does this fetish even exist? Also, what is wrong with length? You'd think Marcie would want her rule to last as long as possible?"

"Really, Susan, thats the one you don't interpret literally? But, seriously, fear is not a good motivator. As soon there is no reason to fear Marcie, people would strike. Hell, fear of what she might do to them, would lead to **** attempts. And don't forget that if Marcie can get them in line through fear, Marel and Lauren can as well. Various tyrants have tried this and it always ends badly"

"And apparently there's a girls chess club. How many girls are into chess? I only did it to prove I'm not a moron. I can understand a chess club having girl members but I find it hard to believe it would be all girls"

"Thats probably why there's only three members" said Lindsey, "its a girls only club but only three girls were actually interested in it"

"Its a shame Gina wasn't made to masturbate naked in front of the class but Gambio seems to find nose picking to be more erotic"

"There's potential in Marcie's attempt to take over the school. The problem is that because of Marcie's actions, I no longer want her to succeed. I'm actively rooting for other me to strike her down and I don't think this is Gambio's intention"

"Well, at least we're got some good ideas on how to punish Marcie, Gina and Rina" said Susan, "until next time, readers"
