Overseer Drops A Bomb

Adam sputters despite not drinking anything. "Wh-what?!" He asks, louder than intended.

"When you finished, did you pull out or did you cum inside one of the twins?" She asked, more detailed than before but in a simple tone as if it was a normal topic of conversation. "Or did you cum in both of them?"

"I pulled out!" He answered just to stop her from pursuing the subject. "I... pulled out. Why are you even asking something like that?"

Campbell sighed in... disappointment? "Adam, I'm sure you've thought of this. If not, I'm positive it's been brought to your attention. As the only man in the vault, you are, perhaps, our most valuable resource in surviving into the future. As the only known man in known existence, you're... fluids are more valuable than anything else we have in this Vault."

"Ok." Was all Adam could say. He wasn't entirely sure where this was going, but he had a suspicion.

"I'll just come out and say it." Campbell rested her hands on her desk and looked Adam straight in his eyes. "You're encouraged to have sex with as many women as you want, but only for the purpose of reproduction."

Adam blinked. He stared at her for what felt like an eternity. When he finally tried soaking, all Adam could do was flap his jaw in silence.

"Of course, consent is still important." Campbell decided to continue. "However, there is purposefully no contraceptives in this Vault, so we might encourage reproduction."

"Wait, hold on." Something she just said didn't make sense to Adam.

"You have questions. I have a little time. Go ahead." She sat up straight on her chair.

"You purposefully neglected to supply birth control in the vault?" He asks, suspiciously.

"Yes, that's right." Campbell nodded. "It's to ensure the likelihood that whomever you have sex with will fall pregnant. Assuming you don't pull out anymore, of course."

"But me being the only man in the vault was an error, right?" Adam narrowed his eyes at Campbell, intently studying her reaction.

For the first time since they've met Overseer Campbell looked... nervous. She swallowed before speaking. "That is... correct. An unfortunate error that assigned nearly all men to our sister vault. Yourself being the exception, obviously."

There was something in her voice. Her tone was off. As of she was reading from a script or trying to convince herself of something.

"If the vault was supposed to have men and women in equal numbers, why would you intentionally avoid-?"

"Unfortunately, Mr Surname, I have other duties to attend to, so I'll have to cut this conversation short." Campbell stood up and motioned towards the exit. "I'll be sure to answer any more questions you may have another time."

Adam decided not to pursue this issue. Maybe it was safer to let it be. For now, at the very least. He thanked her for her time and left her office.
