Out of this world

The Jambalaya the first ever home cooked meal you ever tasted was indescribable its mixture of flavors paralyzed you much to your mother’s worry. “I know they did the recipe exactly like I normally do it.” She said waiting with anticipation for your reaction. If return you only smiled before proceeding to stuff your mouth. “Hey Nathan! Where are your manners don’t stuff your mouth.” Your mother said indignantly. You stopped swallowing the delicious food before speaking. “I left my manners back on the train with my girlfriend and besides its just too good.” You said before resuming your feast on the food.

Before you knew the bowl was entirely gone much to your mother’s happiness. However you couldn’t stay here forever well theoretically you could but that wouldn’t be fair to anyone. With a sad look in your eyes you stood up before speaking. “As much I would love to stay here forever I can’t mom I need to return to the void and then my body.” You said with regret you you scrunched your face in regret it hurt to say it her especially after you had just reunited with her. “I suppose it would be a stretch to ask the Dark One to give you a vacation?” Your mother smiled hugging you before speaking.

Since you nearly died your technically not dead meaning not even the Dark One by his own Laws can stop you from leaving. No one outside of killing themselves or wearing the mark of the Dark One can enter this realm so you will be able to come back at will. But I have to check something first. Lifting your shirt she placed her cold hands on your stomach. You could see the red runes come to life as her hands made contact with your stomach.

You felt a disturbance in your mind something was awake and it was angry you flinched as your felt its rage obviously the spirit inside of you wasn’t happy at all. “Just hang on Nathan I will fix this seal as it appears the sigil has weakened with time and need some maintenance.” Your mother said as she drew her own wand and began rewriting the same sigils on your stomach.

You felt a tingling sensation on your stomach before the voice in your head went silent completely. Pulling your shirt down your mother looked you over in your black vest and khakis smiling as she adjusted the pin on your vest. “You look so much like your father.” She said frowning before she took you in your arms hugging you tightly. “I know it must have been hard but please even if you want to give your father a chance the spirit has probably corrupted him and the only way to fix it is for me to repair the seal but until then he needs an anchor he needs you Nathan more then anything.

Stepping back she placed her hand on the wall before a large green portal opened in the wall. With a smile on your face you hugged your mother one last time saying good bye before walking through the portal.
