Out into the water

You and Yasmin begin to paddle out onto the water, you try paddling with your good arm, your right arm. While Yasmin paddles you two along. After a while, you two make in towards the other end of the lake, your arm is on fire from the struggle, you cannot imagine how Yasmin is doing it. In the distance, you begin to make out the colonies' structures in the expanse. To top off the experience rain has begun to fall down onto the two of you.

"Well, this is fun," you smile, struggling with it.

"Yeah, real fun" Yasmin says in response, her clothes soaked in the rain.

You continue to paddle the best you can when you feel something substantial below your feet move. The hairs on the back of your neck proceed to stand up, and your heart jumps. You begin to push yourself even harder, hoping to get out of the water as soon as you can.

You then feel more movement this time the unknown creature pushes into your craft, this time Yasmin feels it too.

"What was that?" she asks in fear.

"I don't know," you respond.

Now you are both picking up the pace, not wanting to be stranded in the lake with the unknown creature.

You do feel three more pushes, but the creature seems to lose interest after a while, but that does nothing to calm either of you down.

When you finally look at your surroundings you notice that the colony is nearly in front of you, It has high white matte walls, while wet, thick dark green vines with green and purple leaves struggle up the edges. Above they are topped with guns; however, everything is tinged with a layer of rust around the corners. Rain pours out openings in the walls, flowing out into the lake.

"Yasmin, we are nearly there!" you say, trying to calm her down.

As your craft hits the rocky soil on the banks in front of the colony you celebrate, you've made it, it was a day's journey with no rest, but you have made it.
