Out Running The Storm

"C'mon Brandon, we're almost back," Chloe called over her shoulder back towards the jock who was lagging behind, doing his best to keep up with the redhead. Above them black clouds swirled and ran was just starting to slowly drip around them. Chloe knew if not for her constant soccer practice she'd had been trapped in the middle of the storm back on the hiking trail, luckily now they were only down the road from the cabin.

Chloe pressed forward and all but jumped onto the front porch when she reached it, giving her body a quick shake to get the rain off, "That was close, we were almost in that Bran...don," Chloe absently said looking over expecting to see the jock but finding no one. Spinning back around she saw the huffing jock stumbling towards her, now caught in the downpour. Chloe pursed her lips but as soon as Brandon weakly crawled his way onto the porch, and collapsed she burst into laughter.

"Y-You are fucking f-fast," Brandon heaved out as the redhead cackled above him, "What, I run, but you're a soccer player, you run all match, I at least get a break once and awhile," Brandon lightheartedly reminded Chloe, a small grin forming on his face,

"Hey, tell yourself whatever you need to," Chloe teased, reaching down grabbing Brandon's hand and pulling him to his feet, "C'mon, better head inside before they send the hounds looking for us," Brandon groaned and reluctantly **** himself up and followed Chloe into the cabin.

To their shock, however, the only ones inside were Kurt and Victoria. The duo were cuddled next to each other on the couch, television absently playing in the background, and the pair were just starting to lean into one another, ready to lock lips. "Oh shit, sorry!" Chloe exclaimed, diverting her eyes causing Victoria to jump away from Kurt, and in turn Kurt flashed an angry glare towards the pair.

"Guys! What are you doing back?!" Victoria blurted out, her cheeks turning beet red,

"Thunderstorm? Downpour? Dry cabin, ringing and bells?" Brandon lightly joked back,

"Huh? Oh yes! Right!" Victoria nervously laughed back, sliding off the couch and too her feet, "K-Kurt and I got back a little while ago because he said he felt a storm coming,"

"Felt a storm coming?" Chloe repeated, looking over to the blonde teen dismissively,

"Call it my sixth sense," Kurt smoothly replied, "I've been coming up to this cabin all my life, eventually I could start telling what weather would be coming, without fail," Victoria couldn't help but smile at the man while Chloe just shook her head and looked around the cabin,

"Where is everyone else?" Chloe asked, looking back to Victoria,

"They, um, aren't back yet. You two were the first," Victoria replied, pulling her attention off of Kurt,

"Wait so Ash and Zack are still out there?" Brandon repeated with wide eyes, glancing out the window quickly, seeing the swirling trees and torrent of rain,

"Heather and Gavin too?" Chloe added on, her tone just as worried.

Almost on cue, however, the back door of the cabin bursted open. Victoria let out a surprised yelp and the four all rushed over only to find Gavin and Heather, drenched to the bone, but laughing hysterically. "I told you I knew a shortcut!" Heather told the geeky teen between her giggles,

"Yeah, a shortcut that took us off trail and got us lost for an extra twenty minutes!" Gavin retorted taking off his glasses and shaking the water from his lenses,

"Oh no, no, no, you aren't putting this on me! I seem to remember it was you who said we should go around the trail one more time even after I pointed out the dark clouds overhead," Heather reminded the teen before the pair joined together for more wild laughter.

"Ahem," Kurt roughly cleared his throat finally snapping the pair out of their small trance, "Afternoon, maybe its just me, but for some reason I think you two had a good time," Victoria and Brandon let out a short snicker and even Chloe couldn't fight off a smile as the two wet teens looked over at them in surprise,

"Yeah we did," Heather confidently replied, "We had a fun hike, and I'm betting it was better than the rest of yours," Gavin stayed silent all but letting out a short breathy laugh as Heather continued, "You got anything else you want to say about it?"

Kurt easily raised his hands, "Hey, I'm not saying anything at all. I merely noted how much fun you two were having while being soaking wet," Kurt said motioning to Heather's chest where her shirt clung to her breasts, and her black bra bled through the white tshirt,

"Oh grow up," Heather retorted, not letting her cousin embarrass her, though Gavin couldn't help but start to blush, "Come on Gavin, we should change," Heather said, taking the nerd by the hand and leading him past the group, "Maybe we should have stayed out there too," She bitterly added, livid that Kurt almost instantly ruined their mood,

"Oh Heather come on, I was just playing," Kurt calmly called out to his cousin who ignored him, "It was only a joke," The teen sighed causing Victoria to gently take hold of his hand,

"She probably just misinterpreted what you meant, I have a feeling she does that a lot," Victoria gingerly said to the teen,

"Thanks, at least you understand me," Kurt said as he gave Victoria's hand a quick squeeze,

"Barf," Chloe said under her breath with a toss of her eyes,

"What's that Chloe?" Victoria asked the redhead curiously,

"Just wondering where Zack and Ashley are," Chloe quickly replied,

"Oh yeah," Victoria nodded feeling a touch of shame as she hadn't noticed the lack of her best friends presence,

"They're probably heading up the driveway as we speak," Kurt said as the four made their way back into the den, "We should just chill out and wait,"

"Yeah, we should," Brandon agreed, making his way to the window, planting his feet in front of it and looking down the gravel road.
