Option 1: Obsession, Accidentally

Staring at his watch, Seamus tried to convince himself, even knowing it wasn’t, that this was a sick joke in extraordinarily poor taste. He could see how some of his friends would get off on some something like this, but him? Uh-huh. This wasn't his cup of tea. He wouldn't entertain the time involved in daydreaming about ways to make his PM do anything, especially against her will. He would just have to find another path forward. Moving his hand toward the X on the watch, he didn't even think about the fact his fingertip was moving through the airspace where the option 1 resided. Besides, that's not where the ACCEPT & APPLY to CG button was.

Stabbing the X, he blinked his eyes wearily. "What am I going to do?" Sighing, Seamus realized there really was only one thing he should do. Wincing again, he composed a letter to HR, outlining what had just happened, including his reasoning for not simply approving the request, and then sent it to HR. Closing down his computer for the last time tonight, Seamus stood up and decided to go splash some water in his face before he went home.

Staring at the mirror in the bathroom, Seamus wondered how he would tell his wife they might not be able to make their anniversary trip this year. Hearing the bathroom door open, Seamus looked up, surprised anyone else was still there, and then watched in shock as Jill walked through the door. "Uh, Jill? Wrong bathroom."

"You're here, this is the right bathroom." Jill looked intensely uncomfortable, "Uh, look Seamus, I'm sorry about earlier, I'm going through some things lately, and I took them out on you."

Seamus turned away from the mirror to look at her as Jill came within a foot of him and looked up at his face as he backed up a step. Jill continued: "I spoke too hastily, forgive me?"

Just wanting out of this situation, Seamus nodded, "Sure, sure. Whatever you say. Uh, quick note, after our conversation: I filed a protest with HR - and I can't call back that email once it's in their inbox, but I'll let them know we resolved the issue when they contact me."

Jill's face took on a red hue and anger sparked viciously across her face before she visibly reigned herself back. "I understand, that was my fault, I shouldn't have said what I did. To help avoid issues like this in the future, I filed a change of office request so that you and I can share an office. Don't worry, it'll be a bigger one than your current one, and it'll have a better view." Jill started walking out the door, then paused, "thanks for being so understanding."

Seamus was flabbergasted, but the chiming of his watch with the query from his wife reminded him he needed to get home. But, the notification dot from the CG app was blinking. Seamus tried to dismiss the notification, but the app opened: 'Congratulations! Your Custom Girl has gotten closer to you. Have ten gems for your first use of the app!'

Seamus asked himself: "What? I didn't use the app! I closed it! What's going on?" Tapping through the app, he realized that he had accidentally selected Obsession and groaned. Seeing another notification dot blinking, he sighed and tapped on it, knowing now he wasn't getting away from this infernal thing. 'Quick reminder, half of all unused gems at midnight will be converted to app available utilization to randomly purchase upgrades for your custom girls, and to randomly add other nearby girls to your custom girl list! If you want to add a new custom girl for the first 5 girls, it is only 10 gems. If you let the app do it randomly, it will only cost you 5 gems each.'

Paling, Seamus realized he would need to spend all of his gems, but getting consent for it would be tricky. How do you broach that kind of topic? Well, he would find out tonight when he got home.

Well, he could add his wife… No, not without taking to her first. A conversation he knew would be weird.
