One Last Proposal

"Oh before you truly accept there’s one more thing I want from you, and that’s to make sure you do show up on time, you’re going to spend however long you need to earn the money you’ll stay right here with me!”

“You’re kidding right, I have to stay here with you and why is that?”

“Well you said it yourself, you don’t get up before noon on Mondays, which would make you half a day late for your first day of work. So to prevent that you’ll live here so i can make damn sure you arrive on time and sober!”

Natalie exploded, "DADDY WOULDN’T TREAT ME LIKE THIS!”

“Oh I understand some of mom’s friends said that I resembled dad while growing up but I can guarantee you that I’m nothing like dad! So what’s it going to be, live here until you earn the money to pay the Williams with or try your luck with Stiles?”

I could see that she knew that she’s just been backed into a corner by me.

“I’ll stay here with you but I’ll need to go to my place to get some clothes and things I’ll need!”
I understand and to show you that I’m not a cruel bastard, you’ll have until noon tomorrow to be back here with everything and I’ll even drive you home and bring you back!”

“Fine but I want to go home right now!”

I went and got my jacket and keys then drove Natalie home, letting her spend the last night for the foreseeable future. “Call me when you’re ready to come back to my place!”

A little after nine am, Natalie called and I drove over to get her. Spent a half hour loading two trunks, four suitcases and three toiletries bag into my car. When back home, I unloaded them into the living room, showed Natalie where her room was (the former guest room) and the shared bathroom. I handed her my spare key and told her that I was going to the baseball game so I wouldn’t be back until sevenish.
