Chapter 19 by Storm Chyld
Does Keira leap into the fray?
Oh yeah!
Keira wasn’t about to sit on the side lines in a fight, it just wasn’t who she was, especially if someone she cared about was in danger. Throwing her hands forward, she summoned the swirling cold energy in a vortex around her arms and fired a beam like blast of ice at Phase. The beautiful black woman’s face shifted from confidence to surprise, as the beam hurtled toward her. At the last second, she leapt backwards, avoiding the beam, and tucking into a backward somersault.
Following Keira’s lead, Hope enveloped her arms in fire and threw them forward, causing the energy to roll forward like a flamethrower. Once again Phase threw her hands up, and a shimmering field caused the flames to dissipate into nothing. Throwing her foot down the young black woman, stomped the ground, sending another ripple through the earth, throwing Hope off balance.
Keira threw another beam of ice like energy at their assailant, while Hope recovered her footing. This time Phase threw her hands forward and launched the shimmering energy forward to meet the attack. The two slammed into each other much as they had when she had fought Hope, but this time, they weren’t equal. Instead, Keira’s cold energy pushed forward edging closer and closer to the black warrior.
Pouring more energy into her beam, Keira tried to overwhelm Phase’s unique power, and slowly **** the energy closer and closer to her target. Hope took her que from Keira and threw her flames forward, but Phase simply widened her hands, and the field, which caused the fire to dissipate harmlessly again. Frustrated that her power was useless against the Alter, Hope withdrew her attack and summoned her Crescent Blades. Darting forward she hurtled toward her opponent.
Phase waited till the last second before dodging backward, forcing Keira to let up her blast, so as not to hit Hope. The agile warrior dodged backward, quickly avoiding each attack that Hope swung at her. Throwing her left hand up, she hit Hope’s weapon with a pulse, snuffing it out, as her right first slammed into her chest. Hope brought the other blade down at an angle, but Phase quickly brought up her right hand snuffing the fire out and slammed her left fist into the redhead’s chest again, knocking her backward.
Keira was frustrated that Hope had interrupted her attack, but her ire evaporated as she watched the girl she liked get struck repeatedly. Growling in rage, she summoned her ice swords, and dashed into the fray. Hope gave up her blades and went in with her fists, launching measured strikes. Phase, however, was a skilled adversary, and easily blocked, and evaded the young woman’s attacks. Suddenly the two dodged away from one another as Keira came in swinging with her blades.
Keira’s raw talent didn’t make up for her lack of training as she swung wildly with her blades. Phase dodge the first few attacks, before throwing up a hand, and shattering one blade, and then the other. The black woman threw her hand forward, and Keira tried to dart backwards to avoid the blow, but she couldn’t avoid the pulse the black woman threw into her chest. Keira went hurtling backwards, as the blast nearly took her breath away. Rolling across the ground, she came back up to her feet, and summoned her swords again.
“Stay back Keira.” Hope growled, as she darted into Phase, trying to land a jab.
Phase threw her left hand out and caught the redhead with another pulse knocking her back across the ground. Even as Hope rolled to her feet, two needles slipped through the busty black woman’s elusive body.
What does Keira do next?
