Chapter 11 by MonsterBox MonsterBox

Who the HELL is interrupting?!

Oh, just Carol.

“Sweetheart, you in here?” an older woman’s voice rang out. Not much older, but the Southern accent made it sound a little more dated.

“I’m right here, Carol!” Alex called back. That was a relief, at least. Someone Alex could talk to without it being weird. Of course, you should probably keep your mouth shut.

“Is your mystery man coming?” she asks Alex as you hear another door open, then close. Well, at least that meant her time in here was probably limited. “I’m awful curious to meet him. Especially after those stories.”

“Oh, he got caught in traffic!” she lies as you stand, then sit down on the floor, aligning your back about where hers is. You can’t really touch, but it feels warm and relaxing to be close. “And you make it sound like it’s some paperback romance. We haven’t even met.”

“Well, you’re on the phone with him damn near every time you pick it up,” Carol counters. That was true. You’d been going to bed earlier (I mean, midnightish, but early for your schedule) and getting up in time to be able to talk with her throughout the day. While most of it was just casual with some light flirting, there had been … flares, like first two nights. “And Harold didn’t see my titties until we’d been dating for two years.”

“You were in high school!” Alex gasps with indignity. “And I thought I was sending that to a guy I was dating.”

“Both times?” You stop yourself from standing bolt upright when you feel something at your right hand. You look back and see her slender, delicate fingers brushing up against your jacket. By the way she makes it down to your hand, it’s clearly intentional. Your claws slide back and you put your fingers forward first, taking control of the grasp to make sure she doesn’t feel your sharper points. You can hear an almost-silent exhale when you do, her fingers squeezing into yours.

“… I come to you for support, not to be judged on my titty pictures,” she says after a moment, lacing her fingers through yours. It feels amazing to be able to touch someone who doesn’t make your skin crawl for once. Quite the opposite, you immediately feel flush and delightfully on-edge.

“If I looked like you, darlin’, I’m sure I’d be sending them, too,” the older woman answers with a weary sigh. “I hope Harold appreciates the time he got when I was still young like you. Wherever the hell he is. When are you just going to go out with the boy? He asked you. You want to.”

“I … have agreed,” Alex says slowly as you feel your other hand touched by her fingers. You ensnare them quickly as well, then consider your options for a second. You then tug, slowly, and you can hear her breathing speed up as you turn your ear to the wall. Her fingers squirm … but not for escape. “I’ve agreed to an official-capacity date.”

“That’s great, hon!” She sounds honest. Truthfully, you kind of suspect Alex may not realize Carol is a friend-friend, not a work friend. You usually have a good sense of those things. Now, anyway. “Any fancy plans?”

“God, no,” Alex tells her with a giggle. You purse your lips, but yeah, you wouldn’t describe this as the fanciest date ever. “It’s hard enough to find the time, I’ll take whatever we can get.”

“You do what makes you happy, baby. Life’s too short,” Carol agrees with Alex. She hesitates, then speaks again. “Any titty plans?”

“Carol!”

“Just curious.”

“PROBABLY not …” Alex confesses slowly, twining your hands together, then giving you a little tug back. “I WANT to … but he seems a little gunshy. And you know the kind of men I usually pick.”

“Something wasn’t right with Jameson,” Carol argues, “but this Adam boy seems fine. You worried about if he’s playing with you? Stalkin’ you? A teenager?” Alex snorts, feeling your hands. While she probably can’t piece together what’s strange about them, they are NOT teenager hands.

“It’s okay if he stalks me a little,” she says. “I wouldn’t mind him watching me at my apartment.”

“Even if you were gettin’ dressed?”

“Carol, how long’s it been since I’ve had a lover?”

“So, especially if you were getting’ dressed. Or the opposite.” Her tone was coy. This wasn’t new ground to Carol. Besides the fact she’d obviously been married before, she seemed completely comfortable talking about sex with Alex. Probably more than a little vicarious enjoyment if she wasn’t having much luck in or just checked out of the dating scene.

“I mean, he’s seen me naked already,” Alex reasons. “Just a little, though. Like, not every night. But if he wanted to text me … and tell me he was watching me … I think I’d like that.” Your dick is starting to put up a real fight against your pants as it rises. The idea is getting you pretty hot, and you can tell by the way she’s running her hand over and under yours (as dangerous as that is) that she’s teasing you with it.

“Mm, so you like him A LOT more than the last one,” she notes.

“I was mostly lonely with Jameson. And horny,” Alex admits while you pull at her again, responding to her teasing by letting her feel your strength. Well, a fraction of it. You don’t want to let her know you’re not human yet. “I LIKE Adam. And I get sort of crazy when I like a boy.”

“That’s something I miss doin’,” Carol says a bit sadly. “Even if it seems a little wild, if you really trust him, I say more power to ya’.”

“Just a little worried I’ll scare him off,” she tells her friend, a hint of sadness entering her voice as well. “I tend to, you know. Scare men off eventually. I get very attached. And they’re usually jerks. It’s not a good combination.”

“You think he’ll do that?”

“No … I think he’s a lot like I am, really.” She squeezes your hand, which you return. You smile and hope she’s doing the same. “Just a lonely, little person looking for someone to seem less lonely and less little. It doesn’t feel like he’s using me, which … not new, but not familiar.” After a beat, she clenches your hand far harder. “Not that I’d mind him using me for some things …”

“Well, hellcat, that’s up to you!” You can hear Carol opening her stall door, forcing your fingers to part with Alex’s. They linger for a second, fingertips pressed against each other, before she stands up as well. “I hope you get to meet him soon. And I hope he lives up to what you’re thinkin’.”

“I’m pretty sure he will. I’ll be back out in a second, Carol.” After a few moments, the door to the bathroom swings again, then silence.

“Alex?” you whisper to her tentatively.

“528 Maple Avenue,” she whispers back. “Third story. If YOU don’t mind stalking me a little. I know I can’t see you, but I don’t mind you seeing me. Any or all.”

“Tonight work?” you rasp back, mouth feeling dry all of a sudden. No idea why, surely.

“Hey, Adam?”

“Yeah?”

“It’s a date.”

With that, you can hear her depart the bathroom as well. You’re very curious as to what she wants to do tonight, though you suspect at least some of it is show off some more. Not that she’s lacking in things to show off, nor are you even vaguely tired of being shown. It feels like going is smart, a good balance between escalating things and keeping them at a distance for the moment. Still, it could be a serious risk. Especially if you get caught. God, what if it’s a trap? She’s a gorgeous, young woman who knows you’re a deformed criminal with a stolen phone. A setup makes more sense than her being into you …

Too dangerous? Or too tempting?
