Chapter 4
Does she check on her mom?
No
"I'm sure she's fine." Taylor scoffed at the idea that anything could be wrong with her mom. After all, this was the same woman who managed to casually walk away from a campfire with her clothes on fire.
Having decided to ignore her mom, Taylor cleaned up before rushing out the front door. Before leaving, she swore she saw a strange red stain on her mom's boots as she exited.
The walk to her school wasn't long nor was it short. For her, it was simply inconvenient. Being one of the few people who not only didn't have a car, she also didn't have a driver's license either and, to add salt to the wound, the route she takes to school requires her to wait at nearly 10 stoplights just to get on the same block before she is **** to cross the road at the crossing guard's discretion.
"So annoying!" She thought when she arrived at the crossing guard's station and had to put up with her upbeat and slightly egotistical attitude.
She waited nearly 10 minutes before finally crossing and able to freely walk the rest of the way to school without any interruptions.
Her highschool was nothing special. Same boring classes, same boring teachers, same boring cliques, same boring day. Even some of the guys that were on her all time high list of being hot weren't anything special... they were just hot.
As she approached the school, she could already see the large crowd of students entering the grounds like her, preparing for another day of learning that may or may not come of use to them.
"Good morning sunshine!" She heard a voice behind her and turned.
Standing there was a girl around five feet seven inches with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black t-shirt with the logo of a popular band on the front of it, a pair of white shorts that never even passed her thighs, and a pair of brown sandals. It was one of her best friends, Alexandra.
"Morning Alex." Taylor yawned.
"And how is our pessimistic queen doing this morning?" Alex grinned.
"Same as always. Pessimistic." Taylor responded hearing a chuckle from Alex.
"That's why I love you!" Alex added before the two continued their walk. "Say, did you understand Ms. Walker's homework last night?"
"Forget about homework, did you see the news last night?" Taylor asked, quickly changing the topic.
"You mean the animal attacks? What about it?"
"They aren't just animal attacks, I'm pretty sure..." Taylor quickly glanced around to make sure no one could hear. "I'm pretty sure its vampires." She whispered loud enough for only Alex to hear, her hand hiding her mouth.
Alex rolled her eyes and couldn't help but chuckle at the idea.
"Listen, I get you have a boner for vampires, but I'm pretty sure it's just a wild wolf that found it's way into town."
"I'm serious!" Taylor retorted, offended that her friend wasn't taking her seriously.
"And I'm serious that you didn't do your homework last night which is why you changed the subject." Alex winked. "But since you mentioned vampires, does that mean you had a visit from the juice fairy?" Alex slyly grinned, nudging Taylor with her elbow.
"N-No!" Taylor rejected, her face flush red.
"Oh please, you know, as well as I do, when vampires are brought up you become hot and bothered!" Alex exclaimed.
"Not so loud!" Taylor's face started burning an even hotter red as she tried shushing her friend.
Several nearby students who could overhear the loud conversation shot quick glances at the two of them before whispering to one another with smiles ans giggles.
"Seriously hate you." Taylor stated, not wanting to continue the conversation any longer.
"No you don't!" Alex cheerfully hugged her with a tight squeeze.
Minutes later, the bell alerting the start of school sounded forcing those not inside to quicken their pace.
"Hurry up! I don't want to be late!" Taylor urged Alex.
"Don't worry, we'll make it in time!" Alex replied.
Rolling her eyes, Taylor looked toward the school building doors. Just as they were about to enter, she suddenly caught something out the corner of her eye, but when she looked there was nothing there.
"Let's go miss time dictator." Alex began pushing her.
"R-Right..." Taylor answered, unsure if maybe she was just imagining things.
Does Taylor go to class or does she decide to investigate?
