Anna quickly stepped forward, out of the reach of Percival's wandering hand. She turned to face him, and looking him dead in the eyes said sharply, "Thank you for your help. I'll be going now."

Anna response left Percival stunned for a moment, before his facade reformed and he gave her a charming smile. "It was my pleasure." Percival met her gaze. "I think I'll try and stop by this tavern of yours sometime, if you ever need a helping hand... please know, you just need to ask." His eyes flashed, for just a moment, with a look of hunger that made Anna shiver. But then it was gone and his kind smile was back. He gave her a slight bow, and with a flick of his cloak left in the direction of his carriage. Anna found herself staring at him as he left.

She shook herself out of it. 'Rich prick!' she thought as she turned and headed towards the tavern, but as she walked along towards her destination, she couldn't help but glance back after him again. As much as she hated to admit it, having friends in high places might be worth putting up with their advances. But that was a problem for another day, as she had reached her step-brother's tavern; the Lusty Wench.
