No dress for the wicked

"What the hell is that?" asked a still naked Buffy, pointing to the discarded black dress that Drusilla had just kicked toward her.

"That's a dress, Buffy," said Drusilla, making no effort to cover her underwear-clad body. "You put it on. I know you don't usually wear dresses -- at least not nowadays -- and that you usually prefer trousers but still --"

"No, I mean why are you giving me your dress?" asked Buffy.

"Because you're naked, Buffy, and as much as I appreciate the sight of your bare body, you are clearly uncomfortable having no clothes on," said Drusilla. "And since I have no other clothes to give you --"

"In short, you're being nice to me again," said Buffy. "Why?"

"You keep asking me that question, Buffy," said Drusilla. "You really should give it a rest. Now please put on the dress before you catch your ****."

"No, Drusilla," said Buffy.

"No?" asked Drusilla. "Do you want to be naked, Buffy?"

"No, of course not," said Buffy. "But it seems like I've heard parts of this conversation before. In a dream."

"I was in a dream of yours, Buffy?" asked Drusilla.

"Yes," said Buffy. "And in that dream, you were nice to me until I made the mistake of asking you if you liked me -- at which point you laughed in my face."

"Poor Buffy," said Drusilla. "And here the only bad things I dream about are the bad things that Angelus and Darla did to me."

"You did bad things to me in my dreams too, Drusilla," said Buffy.

"I did?" asked Drusilla. "When did this happen?"

"Almost all the time," said Buffy.

"You dream about me almost all the time?" asked Drusilla. "That's... interesting. Are these good dreams or bad dreams?"

"Bad dreams, of course," said Buffy.

"Very bad dreams?" asked Drusilla.

"Of course," said Buffy.

"And like you said, I do bad things to you in these dreams?" asked Drusilla.

"Of course, you do," said Buffy. "I just said so."

"Very bad things?" asked Drusilla.

"Why, yes," said Buffy.

"And do you like it when I do all these bad things to you?" asked Drusilla.

Buffy replied, "No, of course I don -- Wait a minute! I'm not talking about those types of bad dreams."

"You must be, Buffy," said Drusilla. "Otherwise you wouldn't keep having them."

"You're missing the point, Drusilla," said Buffy. "I don't set out to dream about you. You just show up in my dreams a lot."

"I do, huh?" asked Drusilla.

"A lot of people show up in my dreams, Drusilla," said Buffy. "Not just you. For example, I dream about Willow. I dream about Xander. I dream about Amy. I dream about Cordelia. I dream about Anya. I dream about Andrew. Heck, I even dream about Spike."

"You dream about me?" said a nearby voice that sounded like Spike's. "That makes it official, Slayer. I do have a chance with you."
