No Date

The idea of swapping Ariana for Kali is something you just can't consider. First of all you love your wife, and secondly no matter what you get out of it, it would also mean allowing your best friend to have his way with her. Even if it only started as a dinner date now, you can imagine it escalating. Better to end it now before it gets out of control.

"I think this is a bad idea." You tell him.

"I understand your reservations about the sex part. So why don't we just do dinner and take it from there?" Matt suggests.

But you shake your head.

"I'm worried about that part too."

Matt seems slightly annoyed. "Why? It's just dinner. Ariana and I have had dinner without you before."

If they have, this is the first time you've heard about it.

"What? When?"

"Sometimes when you work late, Ariana invites me around for dinner. She says she always makes too much but I think she just doesn't like eating alone."

The image of your best friend lying between your wife's open legs penetrates your thoughts. Even though you don't want to think about it, all you can see in your mind's eye is him kissing her neck as his hips move, drawing out little moans that are meant for your ears only. You feel yourself growing hot with anger.

"And nothing ever happened?"

"Of course not. I'm insulted you even have to ask. You're my best friend dude, and Ariana is my friend too. That's all it was; two friends having dinner. Though you clearly don't think so, I can control myself."

You momentarily feel guilty about the accusation, until you remember that they kept this friend's dinner to themselves.

"Then why has Ariana never told me about this?"

Matt shrugs coldly and turns back to the game.

"I don't know, that's a question you'd need to ask her."

You finish watching the game in a awkward silence. Neither of you comment on the discussion that defined your day, but you both seem a little distracted from then on. Eventually you say goodbye and head home.
