Chapter 9 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

Surely Buffy's and Willow's problems aren't likely to be solved that easily, are they?

No, they are not

By the time Giles and Wesley had caught up with the woman in Buffy's body, she was already being interrogated in the school corridor by someone else: Principal Snyder.

"Ah, Mr. Giles," said Principal Snyder. "I was just hoping you would show up. Apparently your favorite student can suddenly wear clothes again. So apparently all that nonsense you told me about a rare medical condition was just so much nonsense."

"I'm as surprised as you are," said Giles. "Apparently her cure was quite recent."

"Well, Miss Summers is supposed to be in class right now," said Principal Snyder, "and she obviously isn't so I'm taking her to detention."

"Please don't do that right now," said Giles. "My assistant and I need to talk to her first."

"What about?" asked Principal Snyder.

"Overdue library books," said Wesley.

Principal Snyder just rolled his eyes.

Then he said, "Too bad for you. I saw her first. Come along, Miss Summers."

Anya grinned. There was no way the two Watchers could do anything to her now. She just wished she could have stayed in the school library so that she could have had more time to appreciate the look on Buffy's face. Always bring the pain, D'Hoffryn used to say. And what could be more painful for Buffy at this moment than the realization that the cure that she had so ardently hoped for was not possible?

Unless, of course, she had Anya's necklace. At which point Anya's hand went to her throat and she suddenly realized that she no longer possessed Anya's necklace. She had left it behind on her old body. Which meant she had to go back and get it.

My god! What does Anya -- er I mean -- Buffy do?
