Nexus and warnings.

The business was doing quite well, the first few months were a little rocky sure, but with cash infusions thanks to my powers I was able to keep it up and running while getting new hires and setting up the business. I learned from several people while I slept about business management, benefits, taking care of my employees and keeping the business going. Those people being Victoria Von Doom, Wilson Fisk, Tony Stark, among a few others but they were the main three. Now here we are about 3 months later, the entire world slowly being covered in darkness as the sun seemed to be getting blocked out by some sort of fog? I'd given myself teleportation in order to get around faster by this point and had been practicing for awhile, this was one of the dangers that would show up, but I was expecting to have more time... I got this feeling that I wouldn't be needed to help with this one, that this event was needed in order to get things started.

This didn't continue on for long thankfully, here is where we are now... the business is thriving so far, currently making games in order to generate enough money to fund other projects. We'd started with a phone game and it was doing quite well, offering special cosmetics for very small fee's with a free to play model was working fantastically, people enjoyed that no one could buy an unfair advantage it seemed. Already we were starting to make plans on expanding the business and getting more focus on the other projects, that was around the time that Cheshire showed up at my new home though... She asked if I'd known that the invasion had been coming, I explained that I hadn't known, only known that there was potential danger of telepath's or mind controllers which was why I'd offered to share my defenses with her, because she had helped me. She asked if that was the truth, I explained that for the most part yes, I didn't know WHAT would happen or WHEN, just that my defenses could help I described it as a gut feeling.

She explained she had some time off coming up from her normal work once things had started to calm down, that she could use a bodyguard job if it was still available. I told her it was hers if she wanted it, mentioned that I would need to start checking out other places for potential branch offices a few months from now. She left again shortly afterwards, needing to get back with a report apparently. I ended up focusing on my job nearly everyday... Finally, 6 months into it I was finally able to have some time for myself, the Justice League had been created, things were getting safer at first, but now there were super powered villains increasing the damage further and further. Cheshire showed up once again, finally having some time for an easier job such as acting as a bodyguard once again. Couldn't have come by at a better time either, I needed to head to another city to scout out a location for the branch office. But where to go?

The decision eventually was to check out a place called Jump City. Arriving there we ended up spending a couple days looking around at different properties, finding some good spots. On our second day though Cheshire had yanked me back for a moment while we were out, a few seconds later a CAR slammed into the building ahead of us. "The FUCK?!" I called out a moment as we both looked up the hill, watching as... was that Robin? Wait there's some kid with green skin and HE JUST TURNED INTO AN ANIMAL! I watched as Robin seemed to be leading a team himself now, fighting against another team consisting of a young woman with pink hair, a tall ginger with a lot of muscle and a short tech geek by the looks of it. I watched as this team of 3 knocked a team of 5 hero's on their ass and got a victory, I asked if Cheshire knew anything about them. "Their a team of mercenaries actually, think their from the Hive. It's like a school for thieves and younger villains. I stop by there every so often, as a gather info kind of a job."She explained, I nodded my head and asked her if she could help me get hold of other such mercenaries, explaining that I would likely need some for the business aside from myself. She giggled out and explained that she could spread word around about my need for merc's, that I payed well for security jobs among other things.

I thanked her for that, even asked if she thought that team would be worth hiring sometime in the future. She explained they were currently working for someone else that might also accept a job in the future, if I was able to offer a high enough price that is. We left quickly, her leading me to safety before we continued on to our destination. By the time we left she informed me that the hive team had taken over the Titan's HQ, unable to hold in a fit of giggles as we returned to the adjoining hotel rooms we had. When morning came I got started on paperwork and purchased several properties, focused on the business side of things and thankfully was able to get another couple lessons in self defense from her, she suggested I try learning some martial arts or something to defend myself at least. We returned to Star City the next day, with Cheshire being called back earlier than she'd expected, I went on to continue focusing on work.

Over the next few months things were relatively calm, business wise anyways. We got work done, kept the game updated and working, we even managed to finish up a few products that were getting rated in quality up against even Wayne Tech and Lexcorp's products. We didn't stop there though, kept putting in more work, hiring more scientists and workers as we expanded the business further. In between interviews, meetings, acquisitions, making deals and other things we even got our first contact with the government. Apparently someone wanted us to make them a new weapon, we weren't making weapons yet though, I had to inform them it would take time and red tape before the company could get started with making weaponry. I explained what we were missing in terms of facilities and needed funding, they said they'd help pay for it if that would make it happen faster. I instead said that money was something we could deal with on our own, it was the other red tape that was the main issue. A large pallet of cash and they were the ones getting the red tape out of the way, pushing things through legal channels faster than most would expect.

Here it is now... the one year anniversary of losing my family to the Joker's insanity... The business was stable, attempted competitors were bought out and absorbed into our growing company, I kept everything running, my ability to make wishes had increased massively with the amount of money, gold and gems I was having to wish up. Already having the ability to teleport was immensely helpful, but I made another wish for power, found myself able to summon elementals. My first use created a rat made of Earth, I found I could summon about 5 total before starting to feel drained, that I could use them for information gathering no less. Another summon got me a fox made of lightning, another got me a wolf made of ice and a cat made of fire. I found that I could summon even more if I tried, but I got screens warning me not to try such things yet. Pulling up a screen I found more info on my new power.

"Well, looks like I know what I need to focus on now..." With that I set up my company to run without needing my constant attention, the groundwork already laid so I can finally focus on training. I used a rat made of earth to deliver a message to the government contact, explaining that someone with precognition had seen a terrible calamity coming, one that would wipe out the entire universe of all life. Needless to say there were many agents that showed up a short while later in Star City, looking for any info they could, searching everywhere they could. Another message left for them explained that steps were being taken to stop such calamity already, that the new company would be able to help significantly in the future. I noticed vehicles starting to follow me more often when I went driving, but it's when I noticed my workers getting followed that I started getting annoyed, when they tried to catch and interrogate one of my people? I was just pissed at that point. When they started watching my people I had wind elementals follow them carefully and quietly, I ended up calling an agent directly when they caught one of my people. "Enough of this, let him go and bring your boss, your chance at getting answers is tomorrow morning. You'll be expected at Nexus companies main office."

With that the person was released and I sighed, all I did was try to drop a careful warning and they started acting like my company was the problem? I prepared everything as carefully as I could, got a message out that I needed bodyguards for the meeting, stealth would be appreciated but something has come up. Imagine my surprise when I woke up to Cheshire sitting in my living room, and she wasn't alone. "Surprised to hear you needed bodyguards so suddenly, whats the event?" I saw a group of people that kept themselves hidden, nothing visible about them, soldiers meant to work under her I thought. "I have a meeting with some government fools that thought it would be smart to try and kidnap one of my people, I'm going to give them part of what they want today. Need bodyguards for the meeting, with luck that'll be all I need though." She nodded her head a moment, then asked me something surprising.

"This have anything to do with somebody with precognitive abilities seeing something?" I looked at her with surprise. "Yes it does, easy answer is I was entrusted with information, making use of it in order to make preparations for something far worse than the Justice League fighting against some new monster or super powered being." The others flinched a moment, she asked why I would give that part out freely. "Because you've earned my trust Cheshire, you've been a phenomenal bodyguard when your available, you've kept your silence about what I've been doing to my knowledge at least, what's more is thanks to your help I've been able to start making connections to other mercenaries as well." She was different now, more professional, this wasn't her showing up cause I put out a call, perhaps her bosses in her organization sent her to find out more? "How much more would you be willing to share with me?" She asked suddenly. "As much as I am currently able too, I have limitations on what I can say of course. I assume this isn't you asking though is it? I get the feeling whatever organization your a part of wants more info?" I asked, only getting a nod in response, the others near her looking like they were on edge.

"Then I'll start by saying this... the precog in question? Their ability comes and goes, but they were able to show me what they saw. It's what led to me creating Nexus. The purpose of the company is to gather resources and funds as fast as possible, start preparing for what's coming. What was shown to me in the vision that precog shared... pure nightmare fuel. Imagine watching the entire planet being devastated, no survivors... now imagine watching it happen more than a thousand different ways, all leading up to one final calamity that doesn't just wipe out the Earth, it destroys ALL LIFE in the universe. I saw people killed in tortuous ways, the entire planet SWALLOWED whole, demons creatures and beings of tremendous power knocking even Superman aside like it was nothing, all to extinguish life itself." By the time I finished talking I could practically FEEL the worry coming off her, she let out a breath she'd been holding before asking, "Can you provide any proof of what you saw? Where is the precog now?" I shook my head a moment. "The precog is gone, I assume trying to warn as many as they can, on as many worlds as they can of what's coming. I can show you proof but... it's more than a little vivid, if there's anyone else that you think would be better off seeing it instead then I'll show them. In order to do so I have to connect to them though, the same way as before." I explained to her. She asked me "Do you need to see their face? Could you do it blindfolded?" She asked me, I nodded my head. "If it was someone else asking? I wouldn't even consider it, but yes since your asking I can do that. It'll be more difficult to make the connection but it's still doable, just takes longer that way."

With that she got up and said that her and her team would keep me protected today, but first I'd need to make that connection and show the vision to someone else. With that she blindfolded me and said they'd be here soon enough, her team spreading out to secure the area. I heard the door open about 10 minutes later, heels clacking slightly against the hardwood floors before Cheshire spoke again. "Their here, can you show them?" I nodded my head and held out my hands a moment, index fingers pointed out. "Cheshire? Since I'm blinded it will go faster if you'd help, fingertips pressed to the temple, that will help speed up the process." I felt Jade's hands guide mine a moment later, my index fingertips pressing against the temple of someone else. I slowly made the connections, trying to remain calm as I worked on creating a bridge between my mind and theirs. A few minutes later I felt someone's hands grasping my arms and squeezing, I grit my teeth a moment, the bridge nearly built. "C-connection is nearly finished, I must request that you please don't disrupt the process." I barely managed to get out, the pressure lessening as they continued to hold on. Another minute later and the bridge was built. "Alright, connection made, I hope you are prepared for this... I'll begin sharing the vision now." I said moments before sending the vision through, it took another 10 minutes before I suddenly felt the person yank away, the vision finished as I heard them run into the kitchen and hurl into the sink. I heard gasps around me, Cheshire placing a hand on my shoulder as she kept me in place, I didn't even attempt to move honestly.

A minute later I heard the clacking of heels as the person came back, my blindfold was grabbed to practically torn off as a beautiful woman was looking down at me. She had long brown hair, wore some sort of skintight bodysuit and looked visibly shaken. For a moment she looked at me before looking back at the others and nodding her head a moment. "It's all true... This ability of yours cannot control others yes?" She asked, I explained that no I couldn't control others, my ability acts as a SERIOUS defense against mind control instead, but so far I haven't found many to share my defenses with yet. She said something about taking this directly to her father, said that Cheshire was to ensure his protections in the meantime until a decision was reached regarding what to do with this new information. I spoke up there. "Wait, everything I was told was to NOT to stop the events to come, most of them I can help with but if the events are stopped then things would progress faster, time is what's needed most now correct?" For a moment the others in the room looked like they wanted to kill me, she stopped them with a raised hand. "The last bit of advice from the precog before they left?" She asked. "Yes. For the most part many events can't be stopped, it would cause the others to arrive faster afterwards, eventually things happening everywhere at once, like a massive back log before everything **** it's way through at once..."

She nodded her head at that, thanked me for the information and said that Cheshire and the team here would make certain of my safety, while she would take this information immediately to the one in charge. She left a moment later and from there Cheshire relaxed a bit more, the others suddenly stepping out before she explained that aside from herself another would be acting as a bodyguard for the meeting. A woman with short dark hair wearing a red top and black pants, entered a minute later. "This will be your main bodyguard until a decision is reached." Cheshire explained, the woman looking at me for a moment. "I am called Shiva, you may address me as such. This meeting you are to have is with government contacts?" I nodded my head at her question, explaining in more detail what had happened and what my intentions were, I saw a slight smile appear on her face and practically FELT Cheshire smile behind her mask. "Then this will be a very interesting meeting... Your meeting with several contacts one of whom is...
