Next Day. Cardin is so confused.

After their 'talk', Cardin just wanted to chill in his room for the rest of the evening. His team and he shot the shit for the rest of the night and, next morning, the discourse between him and Ruby had been forgotten about. Now, Cardin was back on auto-pilot, going to the cafeteria for a hearty breakfast, as was typical.

The same typical faces, which he was more than happy to ignore for now.

However, as he was passing by Team CFVY, Cardin took a doubletake.

CFVY's Rabbit Faunus - Velvet - was stood expectedly, while the other members of her team were already seated. Cardin also noticed that around her neck was a dark brown band of leather, with a buckle and a thin ribbon leading into Coco - their team leader's - hand: Cardin recognised it instantly as a collar.

Huh? What? He wouldn't have thought... They wouldn't... They must know what that made her look like, right?

Meanwhile, Coco was finished cutting up whatever was on a plate, which appeared to be a lot of sliced carrots and lettuce leaves.

"Here you are, gorgeous girl," said Coco, putting on a cutesy voice and, to Cardin's shock, placed the plate onto the floor, by her feet.

Cardin guessed that this would have brought the Rabbit to tears but he was proven wrong. In fact, Velvet's face shone euphorically at the plated food, as though it were the best thing she'd ever witnessed.

"Thanks so much, Coco. You didn't have to," said Velvet, giving her leader a quick peck on the cheek.

"I know but I wanted to and you deserve it," replied Coco, who kissed her back, "Now eat up."

At that, Velvet dropped down to her hands and knees and actually started to eat off the floor, like an animal. No utensils and not even her own hands were being used; just her face.

Cardin stopped in his tracks and just stared slack-jawed at the sight for what seemed like an awkward eternity.

Finally, Coco noticed that he was there and, with a look of stern warning, said, "What do you think you're gawking at?"

Cardin couldn't believe the audacity of this bitch to even have the gall to ask that.

"A-are you serious, right now?" he asked in earnest, gesturing to the Faunus who was now looking up at him meekly, with a lettuce leaf sticking out of her mouth and sauce on her cheeks.

"What?" Coco bit back, "You never seen a Faunus eat before? Get out of here, Cardin. Take that bigotry of yours with you."

Too confused to argue, Cardin just complied and left. His head was ringing with bewilderment. Was he dreaming or something? That couldn't have actually just happened, could it?

By now, his team had already got their food and, when he joined them with his own, he spared one more glance down at Team CFVY to confirm what he saw. Velvet must have finished, because she was standing up again and had placed the plate back onto the table, before hugging Coco from behind.

"Guys," said Cardin to his teammates, "Did you see how the Bunny Faunus was eating her food?"

"Yeah," said Dove, "It's gross, right?"

"Are they too dumb to use forks and spoons, or what?" asked Russell.

"You'd think, with how Human they look, they couldn't put a bit more effort into acting normal," said Sky.

"Uh, yeah," said Cardin, still a little shocked.

Surely, he and his team would be having a field day, teasing Velvet for this. However, his team mates didn't seem surprised by it at all. They were acting as though this were a normal, everyday thing with her.

What the hell was going on today?

The bow that rested atop Blake's head wriggled suddenly, as one of the cat Faunus' ears flicked in annoyance.

She was staring right at Team CFVY. More specifically, at how Velvet got to eat. Coco was such a wonderful girlfriend to do that for her.

Meanwhile, here she was, having to eat the human way. On a table, using cutlery instead of her teeth.

Each and every day, she questioned more and more why she kept up this human persona. It just wasn't natural for her.

It had certainly been an adjustment process, that was for sure. Ever since she had been let off the teat, she had been eating off the floor, with her parents' company. When she left for the White Fang, they were insistent that eating with forks and spoons and eating off a table was strictly forbidden.

Suddenly having to sit in a chair to eat and work out how to cut food with a knife and fork had been difficult. She had gotten used to it, but Blake sometimes wished she could be as well cared-for as Velvet was right now.

"What's on your mind, Kitten?" asked Yang, whispering an affectionate pet name to the girl.

"Do you think I could get a collar with a leash for those walks we were planning," Blake quietly asked.
