Need to get rid of the snake leftovers first

Damaskinos flew up into the skies, his body transparent as he searched for nearby predators. He found a large bear wondering around with its cubs before breaking invisibility and commanding a spooked mama bear to follow him, leading her towards the massive snake body. His duty as a Dark infiltrator in the Light Realm done, he carefully approached the snake hole invisible once more, and made touch down as he looked inside using his Dark Vision.

He entered cautiously, looking up and down the dark cave as he observed its unexpectedly substantial size, almost the size of a small house. Snake scales were spread around, uneaten left overs from past moltings. A clear water pool existed in the back, and Damaskinos made note that with that and assuming he could stockpile enough food, he could last a long while in a siege. Althou being sieged was his worse case scenario. No matter, an independent water supply was good.

After confirming the safety and size of the cave, he finally slumped on the ground. He had an entire half a day before he should go to sleep and did not like how he was going to spend it. He moved towards the water pool, fearful and anxious as he sat down besides it. It would be madness, but the life infusion had already proved itself beyond his wildest expectations, and the only price he would need to pay now was pain. Lots and lots of pain. He looked down on his body, and cast it.

"Fire infusion"

His body lit ablaze, and he screamed in vain trying to keep his concentration as the flames ceased leaving only the smell of burned Imp and the unrelenting pain. He breath heavily, blinking as failure after failure followed until he was finally able to cast Regenerate and bit his own tongue as the pain immediately tried to knock him out, making him lose the spell, again. It took him hours before he finished curing himself, and the light through the cave entrance had turned orange.
